Rationale for Post Development Demands have risen considerably during and post pandemic and there is now an expectation that there will be a further increase given service development and forthcoming structural changes. We also have a significant increase in ADHD/ASD referrals and must conduct the initial assessment while often those patients with previously diagnosed ADHD and who have stopped medications are referred back to PCP for medication initiation and monitoring. These cases tend to remain for months and some of them have also been with us for more than a year after being declined by other services. Although we will accept the initial referrals from GPs, these are redirected to our local ADHD Services.
