We are now looking for a General Manager, Wärtsilä Energy Marketing & Communications, Middle East and Asia. This opportunity is a 3-month fixed term assignment, and it’s location is Singapore.

Responsibilities

• In this role you will lead the Wärtsilä Energy’s Middle East and Asia (MEA) marketing and communications activities and act as leader for the area marketing & communications team.

• The team’s mission is to build awareness for Wärtsilä in MEA focus markets, organise communications to support active market development, increase preference of Wärtsilä’s solutions and services among target customers through locally relevant value propositions and effective use of marketing channels as well as generating leads. Requirements:

• A Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications or other relevant field of study.

• 5+ years working experience in international B2B marketing and communications within the Energy sector, more specifically the engine power plant solutions and services industry.

• A successful track record of leading a marketing & communications team within a global corporation in the Energy sector.

Position Definition:

The General Manager of the Singapore Shell Employees' Union Co-Operative Ltd is responsible for providing strategic leadership and operational oversight to ensure the effective management and sustainable growth of the cooperative. This role encompasses directing organizational strategy, managing financial performance, fostering stakeholder relationships, and driving operational excellence to fulfil the cooperative's mission of serving its members' welfare and interests.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Leadership and Strategic Vision:

• Visionary Leadership: Lead the cooperative with a clear vision and strategic direction aligned with its mission and values.

• Advocacy and Representation: Represent the cooperative in meetings, negotiations, and industry forums to promote member interests and cooperative values.

6. Risk Management and Compliance:

• Risk Assessment: Identify potential risks to the cooperative's operations, finances, and reputation, and develop strategies to mitigate them.
• Compliance: Ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, and ethical standards, and establish policies and procedures to uphold governance best practices.
• Crisis Management: Manage crises and unexpected situations effectively, minimizing impact on operations and member satisfaction.

7. Strategic Planning and Business Development:

• Market Analysis: Monitor industry trends, competitive landscape, and member needs to identify opportunities for growth and innovation.
• Business Planning: Develop and execute strategic plans for business development, including expanding services, geographic reach, or diversifying revenue streams.

• The ideal candidate should have a deep understanding of the local markets in Japan, Singapore, and Korea. Familiarity with cultural differences, business practices, and legal requirements in these countries would be highly advantageous.

General Manager, Wärtsilä Energy Marketing & Communications, Middle East and Asia

This opportunity is a 6-month fixed term assignment, and it’s location is Singapore.

Responsibilities

• In this role you will lead the Wärtsilä Energy’s Middle East and Asia (MEA) marketing and communications activities and act as leader for the area marketing & communications team.

• The team’s mission is to build awareness for Wärtsilä in MEA focus markets, organise communications to support active market development, increase preference of Wärtsilä’s solutions and services among target customers through locally relevant value propositions and effective use of marketing channels as well as generating leads. The team also supports MEA experts in building thought leadership.

• As team lead, you are responsible for defining the marketing & communications strategy for MEA, including objectives, target groups, key messages, marcom activities, timeline and forecast, covering the full scope of Wärtsilä Energy’s offering.

• You take the lead in defining the MEA marketing & communications plan on Area level and for each focus market. You ensure on-time and on-budget execution of that plan, applying an agile approach that takes into account changing conditions and business priorities.
