Responsibilities

• In this role you will lead the Wärtsilä Energy’s Middle East and Asia (MEA) marketing and communications activities and act as leader for the area marketing & communications team.

• Collaborate with Fujifilm Business Innovation (FB) Japan Headquarters (HQ) and Asia Pacific (APAC) General Manager (GM) in formulating and executing the Graphic Communications (GC) division’s business strategies in APAC region and towards global expansion

Job Description:

In your role as the General Manager of The Wine Distribution Co. ("TWDC"), you will be responsible for providing strategic leadership, and overall management of the day-to-day operations of TWDC. A combination of strong business acumen, emphatic leadership skills, related industry expertise and experience, as well as a deep understanding of the wine distribution and wholesale market in Singapore, are essential in fulfilling the duties of this role.

Responsibilities:

• Work closely with the Group's Core Management team to develop, and execute TWDC's strategic plans in alignment with its objectives and targets
• Identify new market opportunities, trends and emerging consumer preference to drive business development and growth
• Lead a team of Business Development Managers, the Administrative and Marketing team, as well as the Warehouse and Fulfilment team
• Oversee day-to-day operations, ensuring smooth and efficient functionality
• Closely monitor financial performance; analyzing variances, and taking pro-active corrective actions when required
• Identify cost-saving opportunities, and implement prudent financial practices
• Lead business development, sales, and marketing intiatives to effectively promote TWDC's products and services
• Foster a collaborative, efficient, and positive work environment for all
• Mentor and focus of development of team members, to promote professional growth and performance excellence by setting clear expectations and goals, providing regular feedback, and managing high employee performance
• Ensure full compliance with industry regulations, licensing requirements, and legal standards
• Stay updated on any changes in the law and regulations that might impact the wine distribution and wholesale business
• Represent TWDC in industry events, conferences, and networking opportunities
• Build and maintain, positive working relationships with all internal stakeholders, as well as with clients, customers, suppliers, vendors, investors and industry associations
• Be exposed to skill-development plans, and ad-hoc tasks beneficial for your development

Requirements:

• Degree / Masters from a recognized institution
• At least 5 - 7 years related experience is required
• Strong knowledge and expertise in wine, sake, and other alcoholic beverages
• Advantageous to have certifications in wine, sake, etc.
• Great communication skills with strong, positive interpersonal skills
• A team player with a strong sense of job responsibility, and a keen eye for details
• Honest willingness to learn and grow with TWDC

Responsibilities:

1. Leadership & Management

• Oversees the day-to-day operations of multiple dormitories
• Leads and manages a team of dormitory staff, including recruitment, training, and performance management
• Develops and enforces operational policies and procedures to ensure optimal management

2. Operational Oversight

• Ensures compliance with all applicable regulations and conformance to organizational standards
• Ensures facilities are well-maintained through regulation inspections and preventive maintenance
• Coordinates with external vendors and service providers for timely repairs and services
• Manages bed space allocation to optimize occupancy in accordance to organizational policies

3. Resident Services

• Fosters a positive living environment by addressing resident needs and concerns promptly
• Develops and implements programs and initiatives to promote the resident well-being
• Oversees the resolution of conflicts and issues within the dormitory community

4. Financial Management

• Prepares and manages budgets for dormitory operations
• Monitors financial performance and implements cost-control measures
• Manages financial records and ensures timely collection of payments

5. Compliance & Safety

• Ensures adherence to health, safety, and security protocols
• Develops emergency response plans and conducts regular safety drills
• Maintains compliance with local and national regulations

6. Community Engagement

• Promotes a sense of community among residents through organized events and activitiesActs as a liaison between the dormitory residents and other authorities / agencies

7. Reporting & Analysis

• Prepares regular reports on operational performance, resident satisfaction, and financial status
• Analyses operational data to identify improvement areas and implement strategic changes

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Building/Real Estate/Facilities Management or any other related field
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in a managerial role, preferably in residential or property management
• Demonstrated leadership and team management abilities
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Advantageous with strong knowledge in FEDA Licencing requirement
• Capable of managing emergencies and stressful situations effectively
