As an energy engineer, you understand how facilities are supported by electrical, gas, and water infrastructure by interacting with the models and drawings for these systems. That knowledge is key when it comes to ensuring proper data collection and transmission from measurement hardware. In order achieve climate and decarbonization goals, our clients want to enhance the way they consume energy, and it starts with baselining consumption. We are looking for a senior energy engineer who can combine their expertise in energy assessments, metering technology, and ability to lead a team of engineers and facilitate interaction between clients and partners. You will also be a technical mentor to junior colleagues as they interface with utility metering hardware including data integrity and network protocols analysis. You will be leading technical efforts in preparing pre-visit technical background information, coordinating site-visit logistics, and post-visit findings reporting and engagement with the client. You will directly impact the energy sector by leading a team that will pair advanced metering technology with a diverse portfolio of facility energy systems across the United States. You Have:
3+ years of experience in working with energy systems
Experience with analyzing electrical one-line diagrams, water distribution systems, and mechanical systems supporting energy intensive facilities
Experience with assessing condition of energy infrastructure, including metering systems, such as age, quality, quantity, and vulnerability
Experience with building design and trade disciplines involving the management of critical building systems
Experience with industry control systems, hardware troubleshooting and maintenance
Knowledge of environmental, sustainability, and energy efficiency regulations, executive orders, and consensus standards
Ability to comprehend technical specifications, including communications and wiring for metering hardware
Ability to travel up to 50% of the time
Ability to obtain a security clearance
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
Nice If You Have:
Experience with building automation systems and controls
Experience with supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) systems
Experience with renewable energy systems and water conservation technology
Experience with Federal government agencies, including the Environmental Protection Agency, Department of Veterans Affairs, or DoD
Ability to organize, schedule, and facilitate technical meetings and working groups
Possession of excellent verbal and written communication skills
Possession of excellent problem-solving and project skills
Global Industrial Cyber Security Professional (GICSP) Certification
Professional Engineer License

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $65,300.00 to $149,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
