As a SUPPLY TECHNICIAN, GS-2005-7, you will perform the following duties and responsibilities:

• Identifying and resolving customer complaints.

What are the Major Duties of this Position? Responsible for the collection and processing of clinical laboratory specimens.

Collect clinical laboratory specimens (human blood) for testing requested by a clinician. Collection of specimens will be accomplished via routine venipuncture and capillary procedures.

Collect other body fluids and clinical specimens (i.e. stool, urine, sputum). Instructs patients on proper collection of specimens such as stool and urine for laboratory analysis.

Responsible for specimen processing and transport. Processing will include, but not be limited to, specimen centrifugation, aliquoting, and mixing.

Assists laboratory staff in a variety of laboratory related activities, including but not limited to, ordering entry into a computerized laboratory information system, preparing laboratory related paperwork, storing and inventorying laboratory supplies.

Along with all other correctional institution employees, incumbent is charged with responsibility for maintaining security of the institution. The staff correctional responsibilities precede all others required by this position and are performed on a regular and recurring basis.

• Responsible for overseeing and coordinating planning, developing scopes of work (SOW) and/or Performance Work Statements (PWS) and assist Engineering with the same.

As a SUPERVISORY DISTRIBUTION FACILITIES SPECIALIST, GS-2030-10, you will assist in the development of plans and direct work within the DOL to include such functions as inventory and storage management, quality assurance, maintenance, procurement and property utilization and disposal. Perform a number of supervisory personnel functions. Render technical assistance and guidance to the DOL, Base Operations Manager, and higher levels of outside command for logistical services, and assists all other directorates with requisitioning supplies and equipment. Review, propose, direct the development of and/or develop local supply management directives including those pertaining to warehousing and stock control. Meet with National Guard Bureau personnel, other governmental agencies, state National Guard Commands and activities on logistical warehousing and storage matters, plans, policies and directives. Assist in the development of plans to support organizations utilizing the GTC. Work under the general supervision of the DOL. The incumbent is responsible for directing and managing the Warehouse and Storage for the Directorate of Logistics.

The incumbent processes all incoming requests to the facility for Release of Information (ROI) along with information required by the VA Regional Office through the Automated Medical Information Exchange (AMIE).

• Processes medical legal releases of information to attorneys and courts pertaining to Tort Feasor (Third Party Liability), Workman's Compensation, Labor and Industries and subpoenas.
• Screens and follows through on all incoming telephone calls from attorneys and insurance representatives regarding legal cases and requests under the Privacy Act, referring only problem cases to the Supervisor.
• Reviews and analyzes written and telephone requests to ascertain type of case to be developed.
• Develops and prepares cases for release to Regional Counsel and other appropriate parties.
• Contacts attorneys when necessary to obtain additional information to develop the case.
• Maintains files for all Privacy Act requests and subpoena cases for all cases being developed, processed or complete.
• Compiles tort cases for the Regional Office. This requires extensive investigations to track down x-rays and health records to compile a complete health record. • All paper health records are arranged in date order, numbered and several exact copies made for the Regional Office.
• All computer health records are downloaded to a CD including documents in VistA Imaging. For cases going to trial, this may include additional updates and coordination with the US Attorney's Office.
• Interviews veterans and insurance agents requesting information for Third Party Liability, Workman's Compensation, and Privacy Act cases for referral to Medical Cost Recovery and/or the Regional Counsel's Office.
• Evaluates validity of each request. Determines which information is to be released in compliance with existing laws (Privacy Act of 1974, Freedom of Information Act, and Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act).
• Ensures that proper authorization exists before release is made. Processes the request to the requesting agency or individual.
• Inputs all requests into the ROI computer package for logging and tracking of these requests.
• Receives and directs callers and visitors. Receives and/or gives out forms and assists visitors and/or callers with the completion of forms or documents.
• Responds to questions from patients concerning services. Provides advisory and technical assistance to patients, administrative staff and professional staff regarding release of information.

The purpose of the position is to serve as an inspector of surface maintenance vehicles and equipment to ensure that physical and operating characteristics are within acceptable standards and specifications. Duties involve complex inspection work, requiring a wide variety of inspection processes and techniques, at remote worksites or field installations where a supervisor is not readily available. In these situations, work is performed very independently and decisions require a wide range of subjective judgments.

Duties include, but may not be limited to the following:

• Pulls stock inventory and material for delivery; replenishes stock inventory; interacts with clinical and administrative customers and maintains records on stock levels;

Serves as a Medication Technician in a Federal Bureau of Prisons Institution.

Responsible for the administration and distribution of medication to inmates in various locations, including the Health Services Unit, Special Housing Units, or other designated areas within the institution.

Administers medications to include but not limited to Oral, Topical, Nebulized, Meter Dose Inhaler, and Insulin, in a manner consistent with nationally recognized safe medical practices, to include accurate identification of the patient, medication, dosage, time, and route.

Reports and records adverse medication reactions.

Assists Pharmacist or other appropriate staff member in a variety of pharmacy related activities, including, but not limited to, entry of physician orders into a computerized pharmacy information system, preparation of medications for Pharmacist review, preparation of medication administration records, storage and inventory of pharmacy supplies, etc.
