We are currently looking for a Graphic Technician to join our Facilities team at Denver International Airport. In this role you will perform graphics work in a full-service sign maintenance shop environment.

The City and County of Denver offers a competitive salary commensurate with education and experience. The salary range for this position is $24.11 - $36.1 per hour. We also offer generous benefits for full-time employees which include but are not limited to:
Location and Schedule
This position will report to our off site Denver International Airport Maintenance Facility located about 5 minutes from DIA
This position requires ten-hour days, four days a week, 100% on site
Mandatory extended/additional shifts are required for snow removal operations.
If staffing challenges occur, weather conditions warrant or an emergency crisis occurs, all DEN employees will be required to work extended hours and/or alternative shifts (includes nights, weekends, and holidays).
Shifts are not guaranteed and are subject to change.
7%-12% pay differential depending on shift assigned and equipment operated
What You'll Do
We are looking for someone to assist with the signage for the 53 square miles of our airport. You will be tasked with completing the entire process of creating, fabricating, producing, and installing signage. Additional duties include:
Performs signage work in a full-service signage shop environment. This includes graphics, layout, paint booth, sheet metal cutting, printer, welding, layout/graphic, and fabrication of a variety of signs to be used in various environments and lighting conditions
Operates a variety of graphic related machinery such as CNC, tig welder, paint booth, and other stationary equipment
Reads and interprets sketches, blueprints, and drawings
Performs signage layout/fabrication works in accordance with Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD), and City & County of Denver regulations
Observes all common safety practices
Operates sign-maker computer production software and other tools/equipment used in producing signage such as Geber Omega design and output software tools i.e. printers, plotters, scanners, sublimation devices etc
Maintains shop equipment and keeps the working area clean
Uses HVLP spray gun to paint a variety of finishes in the paint booth such as acrylic enamels, acrylic polyurethanes and specialized paints for plastics
Installs signage to meet various local/federal government signage standards. Replaces or repairs damaged signage
Performs other duties as assigned

Signage installation experience
Signage software experience
Experience operating heavy equipment for signage installation
Required Minimum Qualifications

Education: Graduation from high school or the possession of a GED, HiSET or TASC Certificate
Experience: Two (2) years of experience using computer or graphic software in a sign shop environment
Equivalency: Additional appropriate education may be substituted for the minimum experience requirements
Licenses:
This job requires driving. Requires a valid Driver’s License at the time of application
Requires a valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL "B") with appropriate endorsements by the end of probation
Licenses and certifications must be kept current as a condition of employment
FBI Background Check
FBI criminal background check is required for all positions at Denver International Airport (DEN). Employees are also required to report any felony convictions and/or moving violations to maintain this clearance and be eligible for continued employment. By position, a pre-employment physical/drug test may be required.
