You will be working at a specialist care home with nursing in Barnsley, South Yorkshire. Jubilee House is a registered care service which embraces and balances the management of risk with comfort, homeliness, dignity, respect and choice. The mixed gender service is for people living with Learning Disabilities, Autism and sensory and communication impairments.
You will work alongside a multidisciplinary team to support individuals with complex needs and behaviours which may challenge services. The service is staffed 24 hours a day by a dedicated team made up of registered manager, nurses and support workers.

Fashion Technician
Digital and Creative Industries
Maternity Cover / Term time only - 30 hours per week
£22,879 pro rata (£15,585 per annum)

We are looking for a proactive Fashion Technician with a creative flair and passion for their subject. This post requires an excellent communicator who can build rapport quickly and who is comfortable in working with young people. A vast working knowledge of pattern terminology, as well as the ability to carry out basic machine maintenance and understanding how garment components fit together is essential. This includes maintaining the design, pattern cutting and sewing rooms, checking stock levels and preparing teaching materials.

A background in fashion textiles and costume design are highly desirable. If you have a relevant qualification in these subjects or previous industry experience, we welcome your application. No matter your level of experience, training and support will be provided by fellow teaching staff and managers. Workshop Technician

This post would suit somebody with experience and knowledge in the construction or engineering industry, as this can be used to provide and maintain well-equipped safe workshop environments to industry standards. Previous experience may have seen you working with construction or electrical equipment or within industrial environments, where you have had exposure to various machinery and maintenance tasks. We are looking for a Technician that can effectively maintain our stores and distribute tools to students whilst ensuring their safe return, along with preparing materials for the use of apprentices.
Other duties include:
Monitoring health and safety across the workshops and delivery areas
Setting up workshops to facilitate practical delivery and end point assessments
Supporting delivery staff with mock exams
Ordering materials to maintain the provision
Supporting teaching staff
