Salary: £22,185 - £24,590
Hours: 36 per week

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced administrator to fulfil the vacant post of a Business Assistant within the Service Matching Unit.

I am looking for a member of staff who would like an excellent opportunity to assist in the Service Matching Unit . You will provide a full range of duties to support the matching of packages of care to both internal and external Providers.

The Service matching Unit – is a fast paced environment so the ability to prioritise and record accurate information is vital. The vacancies play a key role in matching packages of care to ensure a prompt discharge from hospital or to keep those currently waiting in the community safe in their own home. You will be responsible for issuing contracts, recording Payments/ services and responding to queries from both internal and external customers. You will also provide a full range of duties to support the matching of packages of care to both internal and external Providers. You will require excellent interpersonal skills, the ability to multi-task effectively and to deal with complex and challenging situations in a confidential and sensitive manner.

The postholder is not directly responsible for managing staff, although s/he is expected to provide guidance and support to other staff members as part of a team environment.

In most cases decisions will be made within the confines of well-defined departmental procedures and guidelines. However, procedures for each of the above areas are detailed and complex, with both support staff and operational staff having a role. It is therefore imperative that support staff understand the boundaries between the operational and support roles and when to seek advice or guidance from their Business Officer/Manager with respect to situations that are unclear.

Our salary range typically reflects the initial starting salary and annually increases until it reaches the top of the range.

What you'll do

You’re joining a team that’s passionate about the customer vision and innovating all aspects of our customers’ day to day needs. You'll be collaborating with platform and domain teams to architect and deliver solutions. Together, you’ll elaborate on the solution and its interfaces, validate technology assumptions, evaluate implementation alternatives, and develop a pipeline of features and improvements to allow frequent and incremental delivery of customer value.

On top of this, you’ll be:

• Driving business architecture, which is aligned with the blueprints developed by customer journey managers
• Owning the technical design issues and driving resolution through the iteration of the technical solution design
• Leading the activities to shape requirements, validating designs and prototypes to deliver change that aligns with the target architecture
• Promoting adaptive design practices to drive collaboration of feature teams around a common technical vision using continuous feedback

The skills you'll need

You’ll bring expert knowledge of application architecture, and in business data or infrastructure architecture with working knowledge of industry architecture frameworks such as TOGAF or ArchiMate. You’ll also need an understanding of Agile and contemporary methodologies with experience of working in Agile teams.

On top of this, you’ll bring:

• In-depth business understanding of transaction banking, including cash management, virtual accounts and payments
• Experience of defining application architectures and roadmaps for complex solutions working for all layers of the technical architecture
• A background in delivering solutions that securely span a complex infrastructure domain
• Experience of systems development change lifecycles, best practices and approaches
• Knowledge of hardware, software, application, and systems engineering
• The ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly to peers and leadership level colleagues
