As a Master Transportation Security Officer (MTSO), you will support the airport training program through performance of a variety of training-related functions. In addition to training program responsibilities, you will also perform pre-board security screening of persons, cargo, carry-on, and checked baggage as directed by the Federal Security Director (FSD), or his/her designee, a minimum of 20% of the time. Duties include but are not limited to:

• Performing training instruction within established guidelines and standards in support of nationally developed training programs (e.g., new hire training, On-Screen Alarm Resolution Protocol, Crossover); supporting recurrent training needs, and conducting return to duty and remediation training.

• Resolve routine and non-routine security policy and procedural problems related to information security programs throughout the Command.
• Provide authoritative and technical evaluations of current Department of the Army (DA) and Dept. of Defense (DoD) security policies and procedures, and recommends/negotiates changes on behalf of the Directorate.
• Synchronize technology and program protection(s) efforts in the Defense Industrial Security Program and apply multiple security disciplines in the business/industrial environment.

Assists in maintaining the armory and makes repairs or services weapons and equipment as necessary. Assists in maintaining inventory and proper level of supplies and equipment that are stored, handled, and prepared for transportation as necessary to ensure the armory is in a state of readiness at all times.
