Job Description
Position Overview:
Functions as an HR business partner to VP, Operations – Specialty Containers across approximately 7 sites across the U.S and Canada. Develops, plans, organizes and directs the administration of all Amcor Rigid Packaging human resources policies, procedures and programs regarding recruitment, compensation and benefits, training and development, EEO and AAP, health and safety, labor relations, employee relations, engagement and retention necessary to carry out company and plant objectives. Provides guidance to Plant Director/Manager, functional managers and supervisors in the interpretation and application of established human resources policies to create a climate of trust and open communication. Manages legal compliance and risk mitigation in collaboration with plant and corporate management.
Essential Responsibilities and Duties:
- Manages team of dotted line reports and is responsible for supporting employee selection, development, mentoring, and performance management. Responsible for overall talent management and employee engagement; cultivates an environment of safety, high performance, and ethical and legal compliance; addresses employee relations issues
- Works collaboratively to identify and implement the best strategies and processes in the following key areas: talent acquisition and management, leadership development, succession planning, employee relations, rewards and recognition, change management, safety/workers compensation, and operational excellence
- Meets frequently with HR Managers within the region to ensure that issues are addressed, consistency is achieved, and information is shared. Visits each site within the region at least every six months
- Works closely with peers to ensure strategies and policies are aligned and consistently applied
- Manages talent management, talent assessment, career development and succession planning processes throughout the region
- Works collaboratively with business group leaders to direct comprehensive training and development, including a range of initiatives such as leadership development, 360-degree assessments, career development plans, leadership training, technical skill development, etc.
- Actively coaches managers leaders within the region with regard to management and leadership style
- Promotes positive work environment through compliance with Amcor standards and policies, ensuring fair and consistent administration of policies and practices
- Ensures compliance with federal and state legislation
- Leads and executes strategies to assess employee engagement survey results and improvement actions
- Investigates Whistleblower and Employee Hotline calls; ensures quality, timely, and appropriate response and corrective action
- Contributes to organizational change management initiatives through planning and execution
- Assists in the continued profitable growth of ARPNA by participating in the planning and policy making of the organization
- Maintains an effective level of business literacy about the region/company financial position, mid/long range plans, culture awareness and competition
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of the Human Resources function through both leading and participating in various key projects and initiatives
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management, business or related field; Master’s degree preferred
Professional certification in HR preferred
8-10 years in the Human Resources field in a generalist role
Leadership experience in a multi-location manufacturing organization is preferred
Proficiency in HRIS/payroll systems, advanced MicroSoft computer applications (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Outlook)
- 50% Travel
