About the role

A Junior Engineer at FSC is responsible for performing design, analysis, and project management tasks under the mentorship and supervision of Senior Engineers. You will work with our clients and other FSC team members to plan, deliver and hand over projects throughout Victoria.



- Your daily tasks will vary and may include:
- Perform design, analysis, and calculations for engineering projects
- Prepare design documents, technical reports, and drawings with minimal supervision
- Coordinate with team members to ensure timely and accurate project delivery
- Contribute to project planning, resource allocation, and scheduling
- Develop and maintain relationships with clients, contractors, and other project stakeholders
- Continuously enhance technical knowledge and skills

About you

- You will be a motivated and proactive engineer with the right combination of energy and a commitment to learning, bring your perspective and skills to diverse projects, and have an ambition to design your own career path.


You will also have:

- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or a related field
- At least 2 years of relevant engineering experience
- Member of Engineers Australia (preferable)
- Demonstrated knowledge of applicable engineering standards and codes
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Practitioner of relevant design software packages applicable to their discipline area

This is a full-time position offering a salary range between $70,000 and $80,000 per year commensurate with skills and experience.

Who we are?

We are a small restaurant business with a house of brands under our belt including Anchovy, Jeow and Ca Com. Our brands focus on showcasing the qualities of South East Asian cuisine (particularly the Indochinese region of Vietnam and Laos).

As a business, our grill takes centre stage for both Laotian dinners and quality banh mi on Bridge Road in Richmond. Apart from the delicious food and beverages we offer, we focus on quite a few things in-house including butchery, pastry with a focus on South East Asian flavours, and wood-fire cooking.

We take our products to big events such as the Grand Prix and the Australian Open; we make terrines and sausages in house; we have a wood-hearth in our shop and proteins are cooked over the wood-grill; our kitchen is an open kitchen which provides the opportunity to serve and converse with customers.

The Role

Junior Sous Chef – Jeow Restaurant

• Support the Sous Chef and Head Chef in creating and testing new recipes;
• Ensure timely preparation and presentation of food;
• Oversee and guide junior kitchen staff;
• Provide training and support to kitchen team members;
• Assist in scheduling and task delegation;
• Effectively manage food production with an intention to minimise waste;
• Maintain cleanliness and organisation in the kitchen;
• Adhere to health, safety and hygiene regulations;
• Implement and follow kitchen protocols and standards;

Experience and Skills

• 3 years experience working in restaurants or similar environment
• Wood-fire cooking - cooking proteins from raw over a wood-grill, including smoking proteins
• Butchery experience (making sausages, terrines and parfaits. Breaking down whole animals inc pigs, goats or deers)
• Pastry experience (inc pastry development with a focus on South East Asian flavours or techniques)
• Open kitchen experience (inc food service, working in a clean and calm manner under pressure)
• Customer service experience (inc running and serving food, answering customer questions)
• Experience in Asian and European kitchens

The following qualities would be looked upon favourably but not necessary:

• Administrative skills including entering invoices and rostering
• Understanding of COGs and food-costing
• Off-site event experience

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $73,500.00 per year plus superannuation

Your new role
This is a full-time position working Monday - Friday and will be office-based.The main purpose of your role will be to provide support and assistance to the organisation, operation and administration of the chemical store in conjunction with the Chemical Store Co-ordinator. This includes but is not limited to weighing test products for studies, sending chemical shipments, cleaning chemical store areas and equipment, maintaining relevant databases and chemical stocks.
Duties include:
* Assist in the operation, organisation and administration
* Assist the chemical / test items areas in all aspects of chemical test item procedures
* Assist with the organisation, cleanliness and safety of the chemical store and preparation areas
* Assist with monitoring stock volumes, including test item rotation, in accordance with relevant guidelines.
* Ensure all test items are packaged and despatched (avoiding breakages and spillages) according to agreed timescales and to shipment of dangerous goods guidelines
* Ensure chemical audit trails are present
* Ship doses to relevant field units within agreed timescales
* Assist with the booking in and disposal of chemicals on a day-to-day basis
* Process the delivery of items and monitor / control stock levels and expiry dates in accordance with the chemical stock control systems
* Prepare weighing sessions & chemical dispatch requests
* Prepare doses in accordance with study / field phase plans Chem/Test Item Reporting
* Ensure stored items are indexed and catalogued
* Maintain and develop the test item archive and systems in accordance with the EAS Archivist
* Ensure test items are entered into the archive within agreed timescales and documented accordingly
* Arrange disposal of waste in accordance with regulatory requirements
* Ensure finalised weighing sessions are checked and returned to the PI
* Archiving chemical stock records into the Company's archive within an agreed timescale
* Ensure security and care of all the company's issued electronic devices
* Ability to use appropriate IT packages e.g. Excel, Word, Outlook
* Ensure 'agreed usage' on all IT systems in accordance with the Company's IT procedures and ensure client confidentiality of all study related raw data
* Maintain and update your own competency / training records
* Ensure safe handling of all test items in accordance with relevant Health & Safety regulations
* Follow appropriate regulatory guidelines.


What you'll need to succeed
In order to succeed in this role, you will have high levels of IT literacy, having a particular confidence within Excel, Word & Outlook. Having experience within this area is not a requirement, but what is required is a desire to learn and an eagerness to work as part of a team.

As mentioned earlier in this advert, the location is not on any public transport routes and you must therefore be able to drive and have access to your own vehicle.
