Program Management (40%)The Voluntary Services Officer is responsible for planning and leading all philanthropic activities and programs within widely dispersed locations across the healthcare system, VA Administrations and State Veterans Homes. Collaborates with Department-level organizations, to include but not limited to the Secretary's Veterans Experience Office, the Center for Strategic Partnerships, and the VHA Office of Community Engagement to support national initiatives that involve community partnerships designed for execution at local facilities or in support of largescale national programs, providing evaluation and recommendations to further program impact and long-term success.

As the primary Volunteer Engagement Manager, the Voluntary Services Officer is responsible for upholding the national and international occupational standards established for the profession. This includes the strategic utilization of volunteers throughout the healthcare system, across Administrations and those assigned to community-based roles.

Personnel/Training (35%)The Voluntary Services Officer is free from technical supervision subject to only administrative direction from executive leadership team or designee.

The incumbent provides technical and administrative supervision to subordinates which may include an Assistant Chief, Specialist, Program Support Assistant, Secretary or other administrative staff. Responsible for the education and training of all VHA, VBA, NCA and other authorized VA program staff on the effective use of volunteers, donations, and the management of strategic partnerships to ensure compliance with all policies, procedures and regulatory parameters that govern such activities.

Strategic Planning (25%)The Voluntary Services Officer develops short and long-term strategic and operational planning, positioning the Center to successfully support the established values, mission, and general objectives of the organization.

Serves as a strategic advisor to executive leadership for the utilization of community resources in support of operational goals, assesses risks, anticipates outcomes, and alternative strategies.

Collaborates with VA Headquarters to develop and pilot programs for execution across VHA, preparing implementation guidance and key recommendations based on pilot evaluation data and stakeholder input. Serves on work groups developed by the national office of Voluntary Service to assist in monitoring field programs, ensuring ongoing program improvement, and communicating the strategic direction of the program to local stakeholders. Establishes local policies and procedures for the strategic utilization of volunteers and community partnerships across the healthcare system, which are uniformly applied across associated programs within VBA, NCA and other authorized VA programs to facilitate impactful community relationships, ensure the performance of due diligence and consistent implementation of programs, services and activities.

Conducts thorough and exhaustive research on potential community partners to determine suitability for development of non-monetary partnership agreements. Responsible for the development of Memoranda of Agreement, ensures appropriate documentation and concurrence prior to finalizing these strategic relationships. Directs the strategic communications planning for the department, ensuring consistent and positive public perception, developing campaigns and other brand-management activities to highlight the community's active involvement and advocacy for Veterans,families, caregivers and the mission of VA. Evaluates the effectiveness of internal and external forces on the organization and its fund development and community engagement programs.

This Registered Nurse - Spinal Cord Injury/Disorders (Unit 1U) position is located in Spinal Cord Injury/Disorder Inpatient Unit. Registered Nurses as a member of the interdisciplinary team provide care to new and existing spinal cord injury Veterans through rehabilitation and sustaining care.

Some of the responsibilities of the Registered Nurse include the following:

-Relies on preceptor to set work flow and identify responsibilities.

-Completes initial assessments and reassessments and reassessments of assigned patients as directed.

-Completes plan of care for patients and updates plan of care based on assessments.
