The Role
The main objectives of the post are to assist the Purchase and Sales Ledger Team Leader and the Financial Controller through accurate processing of transactions, daily management of the Purchase Ledger and supplier account reconciliations. Skills and Experience
The ideal candidate will be qualified to an NVQ 2 level or equivalent in finance, business administration or similar in addition to having some recent experience in working in accounts payable/ expenditure. They would have experience in reconciling control accounts and bank reconsolidations and would have a good knowledge of working with IT systems. They will also have excellent interpersonal skills with attention to deal and excellent organisational skills.

The Nursing Associate will deliver high quality, compassionate care to older adults to ensure their physical health needs are met. The Bromley Generic Team is a multidisciplinary team providing assessment and therapeutic interventions, including groups, for young people between the ages of 0-18 years and their families who are experiencing severe and enduring mental health difficulties. The role provides opportunities for brief and long-term therapeutic work as well consultation within the team and to partner agencies. We are seeking an experienced Consultant Psychiatrist who will work on Norman ward in Green Parks House, Princess Royal University Hospital, Oxleas NHS Foundation Trust.

He/she will provide senior medical cover for18 acute inpatients admitted to Norman ward. The post-holder will be the Responsible Clinician (RC) for all detained inpatients.

The post-holder along with his/her designated 2 wte Core Trainees will be responsible for all clinical work and related administrative work including mental health act work and along with other team members ensure that patients have good quality care and that the Trust’s quality indicators are not breached. It is expected that the post holder will work very closely with the ward manager to deliver high quality and evidence based clinical care to inpatients and take a lead on clinical governance including the delivery of key performance targets, learning from incidents and service user feedback.

There are three general adult wards based at Green Parks House, Princess Royal University Hospital. These wards, Norman, Betts and Goddington admit both informal and detained patients. Norman ward has 18 beds and all wards are mixed sex wards.

The inpatient wards at Green Parks House successfully completed the College Research Unit’s accreditation programme for inpatient units in 2008. The focus of all the acute wards is on multi-disciplinary team assessment and treatment of mental illness through a range of treatments and collaborative care.

Treatment is achieved with high levels of observation and a range of treatment strategies, including pharmacological and psychological approaches, within a safe and secure environment.

RC chairs and leads a multidisciplinary review meeting of patients on the ward at least three times a week to ensure that there are enough opportunities to see each new patient at the earliest opportunity and that all patients are seen at least once a week.

Attend clinical governance meetings where the quality of care the ward provides is reviewed at least once a month

Attend the business meeting to support and provide a senior clinical view and perspective on issues that affect the ward and have a good understanding of the directorate’s priorities in relation to patient safety, patient experience and clinical effectiveness and understand external factors influencing services such as budgetary frameworks and inspection regime e.g. CQC inspections.

Regular one on one meetings with the ward manager

Ensure effective and appropriate use of medical resources within the team to address the needs of service users.

Ensure regular and adequate supervision of trainees and non-training medical staff as may be necessary

Ensure that the views of families and carers are sought when making decisions about patient care and discharge planning

Participate in directorates and sub-directorate meetings including task and finish, ad-hoc and regular meetings to address specific issues affecting the directorate or sub-directorate that require clinical input.

Ensure that there are no statutory breaches such as allowing sections to lapse. Ensure that capacity assessments or section 58 (consent to treatment) are completed in a timely fashion. Also ensure that discharge summaries or letters are completed in a timely manner and information contained such as discharge medication is accurate.

Engage in regular service reviews and developments such as use of outcome measures such as NICE audits of their practice and use of new technology when these become available to support their work for example IPads, Docman and Video Conferencing

The Greenwich ADAPT Service provide care and treatment to individuals who are experiencing anxiety, depression, affective disorder, personality or trauma. • Work in the community settings as required. Work with wider MDT and Adult psychiatrists to make a clinical diagnosis and formulation from a standard assessment, including risk assessment, on which to recommend a treatment intervention.
• Design, write and share a copy of the care plan with parents/carers and patients. Carry out the planned intervention with minimal supervision.
• Assess safeguarding issues for own cases and refer concerns to the Adult Safeguarding team.
• Deliver evidence based treatment interventions based on NICE guidelines. Use individual, group work, advice and supervision according to the needs of patients and have a flexible and innovative approach to packages of care.
• Participate and lead in joint complex assessments with other disciplines and other agencies and provide reports for referrers, families and other agencies as required.
• Maintain good relationships and clear lines of communication with other professional agencies and departments, providing specialist advice and support where appropriate.

Professional Conduct, Teaching, Training and Research


• Undertake all duties in line with the professional Codes of Professional Conduct, and maintain professional registration requirements for the post according to discipline/profession
• Work in accordance and within the principles, policies, procedures and guidelines of all aspects of clinical governance.
• Attend monthly supervision and annual appraisal meetings. Make effective use of colleagues in sharing and participating in casework supervision and other forms of supervision when required according to local practice, including attending peer supervision meetings if available.
• Identify development and training needs with manager in accordance with Trust/Directorate guidelines. Remain up to date with changing practices and wherever possible make full use of all training and educational facilities.
• Join and lead with colleagues in specialist teaching, consultation /support to other professionals and agencies. Participate in the provision of a good quality learning environment for trainees, overseeing placements and supervising trainees.
• Participate in the monitoring, evaluation and audit of the service.

We are excited to announce a unique opportunity to work towards a Portfolio pathway in General Adult Psychiatry. The Portfolio pathway is the route to specialist registration for doctors who have not completed a GMC-approved training program, but who are able to demonstrate that they have the knowledge, skills and experience necessary. This was previously known as the CESR Pathway.

The post holder will first be working on General Adult Inpatients Wards; Betts and Norman based within Green Parks House, Orpington. These wards are mixed gender wards with 18 beds. Following progress with their portfolio documentation , potentially after approximately two years in this post, the post holder will rotate into the ICMP Team based at Carlton Parade, Orpington. This is a community based team whose service users are diagnosed with mental health conditions. This will allow the post holder to gain clinical experience for their portfolio in acute and community settings.

Our vision is that the successful post holder will be in a position to apply via the portfolio pathway to the GMC's specialist registrar within 4 years. The post holder will be allocated an Educational Supervisor , assisted to gain psychotherapy experience and have full support of the Trust SAS Lead when applying.
