It is a really exciting time in the academy’s development as we look to expand our provision, enhance the curriculum offer and build a reputation as the alternative provider of choice in the county. We have made some really exciting appointments where recruitment presents it challenges and we are now looking to offer a full -time permanent contract for a teacher to join our academy.

We are looking to recruit an experienced and inspiring teacher to join our academy to teach our pupils in KS3-4 at our High Peak site. This is a new role due to a restructure and the ideal candidate would be able to teach maths and science. The staffing teams are small compared to mainstream schools and the post will suit a teacher who is willing to be flexible to meet the needs of the pupils and the academy. The site has approximately 60 pupils on roll that are not all on site at the same time. Class sizes are small with up to around 10 pupils. You will be an allocated form tutor. This site educates both primary and secondary aged pupils.

We welcome applications from candidates who are able to teach engaging and inspiring lessons to challenging and disengaged KS3 and 4 pupils. The ability to teach several of our academy subjects is an advantage. Applicants should have good knowledge and experience of working with disaffected pupils in a school or other alternative setting. An affinity for pupils with behavioural, emotional and social difficulties is an essential quality for this challenging but rewarding opportunity. Applicants should be resilient, have high expectations, and a sense of humour. You must be able to build positive relationships with our pupils and think outside of the box. You will be responsible for contributing to a small staffing team to ensure that the site runs smoothly. A growth mindset and positive ethos are essential characteristics that we are looking for.

An allocated base will be named for payment of mileage and any travel calculation between sites for CPD or for engaging in off -site rewards trips etc. Candidates must have access to a vehicle and car insurance with business use included.

The Opportunity
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced aviation engineer to join a vibrant team providing an outstanding learning experience, through the delivery of engaging teaching, learning and assessment, which prepares our apprentices for the next stage in their career. You’ll be working with Rolls Royce apprentices ranging from 16 to 18 years old and adult apprentices on a variety of courses including the Aerospace Engineering and Machining apprenticeship standard. You will be predominantly working in a classroom environment supporting apprentices with their knowledge, skills and behaviours, and completion of their portfolio of evidence.
Through the delivery of engaging teaching, learning and assessment, you will ensure they gain an in depth understanding of subjects such as;
