• Keep a stock of cleaning materials and equipment needed to do the work.

• Collect diverse streams of biophysical data necessary for estimating greenhouse gas mitigation potential of cropland management practices in the northern Great Plains.
• Screen collected data following established Quality Assurance /Quality Control guidelines and prepare basic summaries for visual inspection.
• Organize and format data using Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, and Reusable (FAIR) principles for data management and stewardship.

The primary purpose of this position is: To assist the Chief, Education and Training in administering the education and training programs, provide technical guidance and assistance to managers and supervisors within unit organizations on all aspects of the program.

Duties:

1. Assists the Chief, Education and Training in implementation and administration of Air Force policies for the AF Voluntary Education Programs.
2. Administers diversified Air Force testing program.
3. Assists Chief, Education and Training with requesting and processing Formal School request.
4. Responsible for overall management OJT program for the wing.
5. Monitors the overall accuracy and reliability of all data entered into and maintained in Military Personnel Data System (MilPDS) and Education and Training Systems.
6. Plans, directs, organizes, and coordinates operations of the Advance Distributed Learning, and multimedia education and training programs.

The Registered Nurse IV Chief of Education functions as an administrator, educator, and consultant utilizing management theory in collaboration with Patient Care Service (PCS) and other facility services. Must establish and maintain effective relationships with all levels of medical center personnel and relate effectively with customers, families, and the community as well as program and service leaders at the local and Veteran Integrated Systems Network (VISN) levels. Key relationships with staff are needed to assist Nurse Managers (NM) and Advanced Practice Nurses (APN) to carry out the functions and activities expected of them, contribute ideas and recommendations for the establishment of standards of care, policies, and objectives for the enhancement of nursing organization-wide, assist in policy-making activities as related to customer service and the overall functioning of administrative and clinical programs, and collaborate with other health care staff to establish and maintain programs that cross service and/or discipline lines and influence organizational mission and health care.

Functions or scope of assigned duties include but are not limited to:

The Chief of Education provides senior leadership and oversight for daily clinical and administrative operations within the Education Department as directed by the Associate Director for Patient Care Services (ADPCS). Provides direct supervision over the following areas to include, but not limited to Nursing Education, Diabetes Education Program, Competency Program, Coach Mentor program, and the Resuscitation Quality Improvement (RQI) Program. Additionally, is responsible for New Employee Orientation, New Supervisor Training programs, and the facility LEAD program.

The Chief of Education demonstrates creative approaches in the provision of education and training for patients and staff within the main facility and Community Based Outreach Clinics (CBOCs). Responsible for generating and disseminating new knowledge relevant to clinical practice, nursing administration, and nursing education. The Chief of Education is directly responsible for education needs assessments; provision, design, and evaluation of staff and patient education activities; provision of Library Services by the Learning Resource Center (LRC); and acts as the education liaison to all medical center services and the VISN Education Council. The Chief of Education has fiscal oversight of education program funding, scholarship program management, and LRC budget. Responsible for budget planning, forecasting, management, coaching and supervision of nursing and administrative support staff, program development, performance improvement leadership, labor management activities and participation in the interdisciplinary team.

The Chief of Education may serve as the Designated Learning Officer (DLO) for the medical center. The DLO oversees, assesses, and strengthens Veterans Affairs (VA) training and education mission. The DLO ensures compliance with all federal, state, and VHA laws and regulations, and all accrediting body standards. They are also responsible for the Veterans Affairs Student Trainee Experience Program (VA STEP) and nursing trainees. They will consult with VHA's Employee Education System (EES) as needed to ensure compliance with staff education functions such as mandatory training, Talent Management System (TMS), availability of learning resources, and all Veteran Affairs Central Office (VACO) reporting related to nursing education. Provides administrative support for the VA National Nursing Education Initiative (NNEI) scholarship program.
