Derby College Group (DCG) are seeking a Teacher of Animal Management (Zoo and Wildlife - Higher Education) to join the team at our beautiful Broomfield Hall campus. You will assist with the planning and programme leadership of the Animal Management (Zoo and Wildlife) degree programmes and will be responsible for a range of modules at Level 4 through to Level 6, including supervising Dissertation research. The Opportunity

As part of the teacher role, you will deliver theory aspects of the Zoo and Wildlife degree, supported by practical embedment utilising our own Animal Unit, guest speakers and undertaking external visits. You will be required to deliver high quality, inspirational teaching which encourages students to reach their full potential, promoting progression on to higher level courses, apprenticeships or preparing them for successful careers working within the Zoo and Wildlife, Conservation or Animal Management industry.

About you

The successful candidate will have proven experience of providing outstanding support for learners and will be flexible, self-motivated and dedicated to student achievement and quality. Up to date knowledge and experience of the Zoo and Wildlife sector is essential, with knowledge and experience in a broad range of industry settings advantageous. A degree in a relevant specialism is essential.

The post holder will undertake clinical sessions with duties within Obstetrics and Gynaecology as well as Emergency/On-call in Gynaecology and Obstetrics. When on call during the daytime, the post holder will be included in the SpR on call rota covering Obstetrics & Gynaecology. The post holder will also participate in an emergency OOHs shift rota.

The Urogynaecologyunit at Royal Derby Hospital site comprises of 3 consultants and 2 specialist nurses, there is also a team at Queens Hospital Burton. Both the units are BSUG accredited and regularly submit their data to the BSUG database with excellent secretarial support.

RDH site provides a tertiary care Urogynaecology service, with referrals from neighbouring trusts and performing laparoscopic Urogynaecology procedures (about 25 cases of lap Colposuspension and 10 Sacro colpopexies per year), and Autologous Fascial Slings (10 per year). This unit performs a huge number of different reconstructive vaginal surgeries (around 300) for prolapse, including sacrospinous fixation; Injectables (BOTOX and urethral bulking agent) for DO and SUI, joint operative work with colorectal surgeons and urologists if required and agreed through MDT meetings. ICIQ validated questionnaires are always collected pre and post operatively and submitted to audit database.

The unit has got several projects ready to undertake once the successful candidate is in post.
