DUTY 1
In a Career Broadener capacity, actively manages programs, policies, operations, activities, and investments addressing nuclear, NC3, and global strike infrastructure modernization and recapitalization, sustainment, human capital, and tactical-through-strategic execution. DUTY 4
In a Career Broadening capacity, prepares and presents effective and comprehensive high-level briefings of conclusions, many being subjective and not readily susceptible to verification until actual operational conditions are encountered.

• Serves as the Fire Protection Engineer/Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ) reporting to the Chief of Protective Services.
• Documents and implements a Center Fire Protection and Life Safety Program designed to protect human life and property from the risk of fire-related hazards.
• Interprets, adapts, and applies numerous codes, regulations, guidelines, precedents and engineering principles and practices to determine most feasible design or possible alternative solutions.
• Approves the work of civil servants, contractors and commercial partner engineers, fire department and other specialists in the planning, directing, and coordinating activities for the Fire Protection Program.
• Examines the nature and characteristics of fire phenomena and how fires originate, spread, and are detected, controlled, and extinguished. Conducts investigations into post-fire incidents and predicting fire behavior to protect life and property.
• Reviews and approves building construction and fire protection features and ensures they are in place to minimize danger to life from the effects of fire.
• Provides and maintains fire protection and life safety systems and procedures in accordance with National Fire Protection Associate requirements, the International Building Code, and the Agency Standard for Fire Protection and Life Safety.
• Serves as Contracting Officer Representative (COR)/technical representative for assigned contracts.

• Serve as a Senior Analyst and expert in a specific area of assignment within the Office of Management and
  Budget (OMB).
• Perform career broadening assignments working with the OMB leaders in planning, program planning,
  budgeting and associated cost analysis for budget programs.

• Analyzes and modifies short-and-long-range plans, programs, and objectives, recommending major changes to ensure the best possible level of support to the customer, stakeholders, and organization.
• Serves as the primary focal point on numerous issues related to the identification of strategic and critical material requirements and major application areas, and development of cost effective and responsive risk mitigation plans.
• Works closely and collaborates with high level management/personnel from DLA, Military Services, Office of Secretary of Defense (OSD), Joint Staff, other Department of Defense (DoD) and federal entities, US and foreign industry and governments.
• Keeps the Administrator informed on marketing factors such as changes in supply/demand, production, consumption, imports/exports, prices and stock levels and their influence on markets for stockpile materials sales program.

• Identifies application of automated systems into Ordnance ground maintenance courses. Researches all DA and MACOM regulations to ensure the most current doctrine is being applied to courseware development.
• Integrates emerging concepts and new systems digital requirements into current curricula and serves as the Training Development center-of-gravity for The Army Training System (TATS).
• Leads and coordinates all efforts in planning, designing, developing, conducting and evaluating Active Component (AC) and Reserve Component (RC) courseware for ordnance ground maintenance.
• Conducts research and development of changes to ordnance doctrine and programs for changes to all related training products.

• Instructs in schoolhouse on 92F, 92L, or 92W liquid logistics areas of concentration, keeping abreast of continuing state of the art changes in systems and evolving technology.
• Implements the Army Learning Model and other learner-centered instructional design models/strategies; facilitates learning by requiring students to apply critical thinking skills to maintenance problems based on real-life situations.
• Responsible for organizing workshops and training sessions to support faculty and staff development for 92F and/or 92L and/or 92W and/or Petroleum and Water Officer courses.
• Initiates minor changes to improve course layout or to add additional material. Develops and implements special training programs directed by the Quartermaster School commandant to meet the needs of the operational force.
• Assists in the review and/or preparation of course development including job analysis, task inventory, job task data cards and task analysis information sheets.

• As an Operations Research Analyst, you will perform the following duties which is not an all-inclusive list:
• Serve as a system analyst team member or an individual analyst.
• Plan and organize assignments, analyzing assignments to determine individual problems to be considered.
• Review reports of prior work in the field to determine what available solutions can be used.
• Participate in the statistical design of qualitative assessments tests, development of independent evaluation plans, snd subsequent analyses for assigned projects.

As a TRAINING SPECIALIST (INSTRUCTOR) at the GS-1712-12 some of your typical work assignments may include:

• Implement, evaluate, and coordinate command's education and evaluation programs.
• Conduct all aspects of designated course development from course inception through course execution, to include conceiving, developing, modifying, and sustaining existing courses and blocks of instruction.
• Lead discussions with JPSE senior leadership and Flag & General Officers, Senior Field Grade Officers and Senior Civilians to tailor education, training, and exercises to meet the expressed operational requirements for each supported Command.
• Lead planning, coordination, execution, and assessment of quarterly exercises that are conducted with mission partners at the Combatant Command or Combatant Command Component level.
• Formulate, modify, and deliver training plans and oral presentations; prepares related reports, background papers, responses to queries, and justifications; and prepares/presents associated high-level briefings.

As a Research Civil Engineer (Highway), you will:

• Plan, conduct, and manage research studies utilizing engineering principles and knowledge in the areas of digital project delivery and asset management.
• Utilize engineering principles and knowledge of the digital transformation of infrastructure project delivery to better enable owner agency’s decision-making.
• Develop and promote research and analysis tools and methods to link project delivery and asset management, and improve the understanding of impacts and opportunities of technology (including autonomous vehicles) on the nation’s infrastructure.
• Participate in Federal Highway Administration’s (FHWA’s) asset management, digital project delivery, and digital infrastructure programs to assess needs and help advance a lifecycle approach to data management.
• Collaborate with work groups across Department of Transportation (DOT) modes as well as across other Federal agencies, such as the USDOT’s Digital Infrastructure and connected /autonomous vehicle groups.
