The incumbent serves as the Regional Education Administrator and has broad responsibility for the organization, development, maintenance, and evaluation of all institution education programs within their region. Incumbent coordinates and is accountable for programs involving GED literacy, high school, post-secondary, adult continuing education, English as a second language, occupational education, libraries, leisure time activities, inmate wellness, special projects, community liaison, pre-release, and related activities. Provides guidance and recommendations to all relevant department heads in obtaining maximum results and in building model educational programs and facilities.

What You Will Do:
We are currently searching for a Research Assistant in Epidemiology. The position will independently provide support services to satisfy the overall operational objectives of the National Cancer Institute, Division of Cancer Epidemiology and Genetics. The primary objective is to provide services and deliverables through performance of support services. This is a full-time opportunity located in Rockville, MD.

• Contribute to all aspects of the project management, data stewardship and harmonization in the Confluence Project a large multi-ancestry genome-wide association study to investigate the genetic architecture of breast cancer and improve risk prediction and prognosis of the disease and in the Ghana Breast Health Study a population-based case-control study of breast cancer environmental and genetic risk factors in Ghanaian women.

• Assist under the supervision of senior staff the development, maintenance, and monitoring updating of data platforms for epidemiological research, including but not limited to the Confluence data platform.

• Assist with performing database management of multiple cancer epidemiology studies, including but not limited to, dataset creation including merging and/or concatenation, data cleaning identify and correct data entry errors and/or missing values, data transformation create and categorize variables; impute data and delivering data to staff and scientist. This task will require working within a cloud-based data platform.

• Assist with compiling data needed for budget planning, and with preparing material needed for setting up contracts with extramural investigators.

• Produce publication quality, informative graphical representations of images from research studies.

• Contribute to data quality control and analyze Annual Report System ARS data to develop reports and presentations.

• Work with staff on researching and drafting technical reports, analyzing data from the studies and publishing research findings.

• Assist on all aspects of epidemiologic cancer research, including using R, SAS and other statistical programs as deemed necessary, under the supervision of more senior investigators, to perform data analyses, perform literature reviews, and assist in the preparation of reports for presentation or publication.

• Collaborate in the writing and preparing of technical writing including preparing articles for journal submission and abstracts for presentation, correspondence with staff or scientists, communications to IRBs, and editing study protocols.

• Research both computerized and non-computerized medical and public health literature in major national and international databases and academic journals.

• Research and perform quality control programs using selected statistical methods for use in quality control analysis.

• Work with staff to coordinate and develop responses to requests for information about the Institutes research activities.

• Coordinate and maintain communications by organizing meetings and teleconferences, agendas and meeting notes, actions items and decision logs, and tracking and responding to issues requiring resolution.

CACI is seeking a c-UAS Trainer/RPV Pilot who is responsible for conducting instructional training to include designing specific training materials for UAS and cUAS operations. These encompass conducting a needs assessment, curriculum design, and developing new and/or updating existing materials/content to meet training requirements for the Engineering, System Integration Directorate (ESID).

The candidate is responsible for COTS UAS multi-rotor platforms and supporting systems to gather intelligence for mission planning, mission sensor/payload operations, launching, remotely piloting, and recovering remote piloted ground and air vehicle systems. The candidate will be available and willing to deploy to various AOR for up to 6-months at a time rotating with other deployers and train in the Aberdeen Proving Grounds, MD area. Desired candidate will have extensive experience in either Special Operations / Special Forces or senior Combat Arms background.

• Assist with the preparation of all instructor materials (course manuals, workbooks, handouts, completion certificates, and course evaluation forms).
• Support training of US and Coalition Forces (CF).
• Define vulnerabilities and critical infrastructure regarding threats by UAS/RPV such as TTPs to include emplacement TTPs and photo TTP.
• Responsible for the acquisition, fabrication, modification, programming, and maintenance of RPV for test events.

POSITION SUMMARY
This position provides coordination of investigational and research protocols. Coordinates operational aspects of research projects including project preparation, subject recruitment, protocol execution, data collection, and coordination and database entry.

CORE FUNCTIONS
1. Promotes research study initiation and review. Acts as the project representative and professional resource for coordination of staff, sponsors, research institutions, contract research organizations, regulatory agencies, and involved institutional departments. Reads and evaluates clinical research protocols. Attends departmental, committee, and sponsor meetings for the purpose of gathering new or revised information concerning existing or potential clinical research projects.

2. Ensures that the clinical research staff and/or students conduct the clinical aspects of the projects appropriately and adhere to the clinical trial schedule, which may include: maintaining, dispensing and recording drug and medical device supplies according to regulations; assisting in obtaining informed consent from project participants; assisting in the development and implementation of case report forms; instructing volunteers on protocol requirements and explaining procedures and consent forms; performing research patient registration; ensuring that clinical research staff conduct the clinical aspects of the projects appropriately and adhere to the schedule of the clinical trials; serving as an advocate for the research participant, assisting them through the research process; and/or, performing other related activities.

3. Develops and maintains regulatory and legal documents per guidelines and regulations of the research/study sponsor and the participating institution per IRB, FDA, PHA and other applicable regulatory agencies. Assists in annual reporting to Federal agencies as required.

4. Performs accurate data collection and reporting according to protocol requirements and completes applicable forms and/or other required reports in a timely manner. Facilitates and conducts site reviews with sponsors and other related agencies for the purpose of evaluating the accuracy and quality of the collected data. Develops and implements patient tracking and follow-up systems. Coordinates with participating physicians offices and staff for patient follow-up.

5. Assists in educating patients about research studies and in obtaining informed consent from project participants. Develops and maintains educational tools, educates research team members and assists staff in the conduct of the investigational therapy. Performs medical record reviews. Assists with patient recruitment, screening, diagnostics, treatment and education. Utilizes clinical knowledge and assessment skills necessary to evaluate, report and record accurate medical information, including responses to therapy.

6. Assists in the development and maintenance of budget and/or contract agreements. Follows policy requirements for reporting patient enrollment in an effort to ensure compliance with billing. Assists in the development of accounting reports and in coordination of billing systems.

7. Coordinates and safely implements research activities through interactions with research staff, internal and external investigators, study sponsors and Institutional Review Board (IRB).

8. Participates in the development of clinical research protocols. Performs accurate and timely data collection and reporting according to protocol requirements. Facilitates and conducts site reviews by sponsors and other related agencies for the purpose of monitoring the accuracy and quality of the collected data. May hire, train, conduct performance reviews, and direct the workflow for the department staff.

9. This position provides collaboration with various clinical and administrative positions, as well as research staff. Maintains primary facility assignment but may be asked to collaborate elsewhere either inside or outside of system. Conducts presentations to academic, professional and layperson organizations.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
 

Must possess a thorough knowledge of nursing and healthcare as normally demonstrated through the completion of a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing.

Requires a current Registered Nurse (R.N.) license.

Experience typically gained through two years clinical research experience or experience related to clinical area in which research study is based. Previous relevant experience working in a clinical research setting. Knowledge of medical and clinical terminology. Excellent organizational and task management skills and the ability to maintain confidentiality of patient and study information. Ability to maintain knowledge of Federal and State regulations governing practice as well as Institute policies and procedures related to medical and nursing practice. • Organize and carry out the recruitment, selection, hiring and evaluation tracking of academic progress for postdoctoral program, graduate and summer internship program and ensure all requirement are met; assist in the of recruitment of outside referrals and maintain the database.

• Develop educational materials to assist students throughout their training programs.

• Work with staff to provide support for oversight and review of the fellowship program.

• Work with staff on planning, organizing, and executing meetings, conferences, and teleconferences.

• Prepare correspondence, reports and other written material.

• Create and maintain a working database for various recruitment activities.

• Prepare program brochures, websites, applications, orientation documents and regulatory submissions.

• Ensure appropriate documentation and orientation for visiting students, resident and fellows rotating as trainees at NIH.

• Maintain files of Fellows’ progress on research milestones and meetings with mentoring committees.

• Prepare and process all documents required for initiation of employment and clinical activities for new program trainees and trainees rotating to the program from other institutes and/or outside institutions.

• Establish and/or maintain appropriate files of correspondence, reports, reference materials, publications; student program files, historic and current files of all GPP fellows and summer intern students.

• Receive, review, and enter applications into the database; record pertinent applicant information; set up applicant files; prepare official correspondence to applicants and universities; prepare notification letters to applicants.

• Prepare documents for summer program orientation sessions and work with staff to create and edit program information, including pamphlets, website postings and applications.

• Review, research, and announce on NIH policies and procedures.

• Analyze and present selected program data to Branch and Center management staff.

• Work with Program staff on every aspect of the training program; clinical research training for fellows and the related clinical activities dependent on the training program.

• Establish and maintain a database of all Intramural Research Training Fellowship Awards to promising investigators.

• Coordinate revisions, updates and changes to ITS’s Intranet site and Website.

• Perform analysis of existing program databases; plan modifications of such databases; analyze and present selected program data to program staff and teaching faculty.

• Research resources, services, policies, and regulations and inform the staff and fellows about all changes in policies and procedures impacting fellowship training and education within the specialty.

• Prepare promotional materials for meeting exhibits and presentations, special events and other events.

• Organize, create, and update content on OE fellowship Web pages.

• Work with staff on advertising for fellows by posting on the Institute website, LinkedIn, and Twitter.

• Produce and disseminate program recruiting information.

• Analyze, develops, and implements new recruiting processes and a variety of training programs.

• Maintain program statistics monitoring.

• Work with staff on the planning for course and lecture organization; coordinate with scientists to meet their needs before, during and after their presentations.

• Keep track of and summer students after leaving program to capture their career progression.

• Maintain student academic tracking system to track student progress within the program, track student semester university course work, committee meetings, publications and achievements, and preliminary examinations.

• Work with staff to collect data and provide summaries for use by fellows, student interns and senior level staff in making decisions for analysis or for other executive use.

• Ensure that affiliate institutions make required changes in policies and procedures to remain in compliance with training program’s regulations and its educational goals and objectives.

• Manage interactions with outside institutions where the residents or fellows receive additional clinical training and, reciprocally, that supply fellows to the RFP for research-focused training.

• Answer questions from outside organizations which impact on continued accreditation and recruitment of fellows to the NIH; prioritize responses to communications.

• Assist in the preparation of programs sponsored by the Office to assist potential and future individuals who are interested in pursuing a biomedical career.

• Serve as liaison between administrative staff to ensure OE awareness of fellow hires and departures.

• Coordinate with the NIH program office during recruiting and selection of program applicants.

• Identify relevant career fairs at academic institutions, professional conferences, and other venues for staff to attend, serving as primary point of contact between the Institute and representative at school or other venue, and coordinating delivery of promotional materials and traveling exhibit to these events.

• Write, edit, and prepare all orientation materials for distribution; ensure that each incoming trainee has met all requirements to begin clinical and educational activities within the fellowship program.

• Educate trainees about further opportunities available to them at NIH and elsewhere.

• Assemble material for workshops, retreats, and courses.

• Work with staff to facilitate, coordinate and attend regularly occurring training events.

• Coordinate meetings with directors, NIH mentors, and university graduate guidance committees; arrange video and teleconferences between NIH institutions and universities.

• Organize and support all fellowship program meetings, faculty meetings and meetings with and for fellows; prepare all minutes and other required documents serving as records and action plans resulting from program-related meetings.

• Manage the program advertising scheduling in coordination with academic calendars for partnership universities and for each individual student during progression through their curricula.

• Manage educational activities; schedule and invite speakers for resident/fellow teaching conferences, including speakers from outside the NICHD and NIH internal speakers; negotiate the speaker schedule and provide advice on program content.

• Bachelor’s Degree

• At least two (2) years of experience in biology, biomedical, or related fields.

• Experience in academic recruitment and program orientation management.

• 2+ years of experience with the DoD Program Executive Office (PEO)
