The Nottingham CRF brings together the academic, clinical, NHS and industry expertise required to effectively deliver complex studies and early phase research. Major duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

• Admitting privileges, history and physical, preparing treatment plans, diagnosis and treatment of medical conditions of the following body systems: cardiovascular, circulatory, dermatologic, endocrine, gastrointestinal, gynecologic, hematological, immune, infectious, metabolic, musculoskeletal, neurological, psychiatric, pulmonary, renal, rheumatologic, administration of parenteral fluids, medications & blood products, suturing minor lacerations, urethral catheterization, incision & draining of superficial abscess, occult blood testing, inhalation therapy IPPB, joint injection, oxygen administration, cleaning & dressing wounds, wound debridement, intravenous catheterization, phlebotomy, application of restraints, ventilator management, mechanical chest percussion devices, initial management of fractures, physical modalities, aquatic therapy, osteopathic manipulation by osteopathic physicians, trigger point injections and serial casting/splinting.
• Prescribing treatment for inpatients referred by consultations.
• Providing special tests such as injections or procedures with a commitment to excellence.
• Utilizing electronic medical records in accordance within policy and other regulatory bodies.
• Participation in staff meetings, educational activities, administrative and other duties as assigned.

Work Schedule: Monday-Friday (0730-1600 OR 0800-1630 OR 0830-1700) with on call responsibilities
Bargaining Unit Status: This position is part of the bargaining unit.

Education Debt Reduction Program (Student Loan Repayment): This position is eligible for EDRP, a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific individual eligibility requirements in accordance with VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of your start date. Pay: Competitive salary, annual performance bonus, regular salary increases

Main Purpose of the Role The post holder will be a key member of the PA teaching team who will play a significant role in the delivery of the PA course and contribute to the recruitment, selection, teaching and assessment of students. Main Duties 1. Perform the role of University Lecturer/Senior Lecturer and Personal Academic Tutor involved in the development and delivery of the teaching/taught, practical elements of the course, theory and practice assessment of students. 2. Visit students in clinical placements across Kent and Medway. 3. Work with the Course Director to maintain relationships with NHS partners and placement partners. 4. Proactive involvement in operational/day to day management of the course. 5. Continued scholarship to promote personal and professional development. Knowledge transfer and research activity will develop and progress to the level of the appointment. 6. Contribute to the recruitment, interviewing and selection of students. Planning and Organising Resources 1. Effectively communicate changes in venue/timetables to students. 2. Employ University mechanisms for recording and acting on student absence. 3. Review student data relating to retention, academic achievement and other issues (appeals, interruptions etc) relating to academic progression and equality and diversity. 4. Oversee the availability of staff, teaching accommodation and relevant resources required for the day to day delivery of the course. 5. Assist in the recruitment and selection of students. 6. Meet regularly with the course team members to review how relevant subject knowledge/research can be incorporated into modules. 2. Think critically about the development of own research and learning skills. 5. Analyse and interpret data and draw appropriate conclusions. 6. Engage in scholarly activity to ensure subject knowledge is kept up to date, translate knowledge of advances in the subject area of research activity. 7. Maintain accurate records of data, notes and research findings. 8. Engage in subject, professional research where appropriate to support teaching activities. 9. Conduct individual or collaborative research projects. 10. Explore sources of funding and contribute to the process of securing funds for own research / scholarly activities. 11.
