Centrex Computing Services Ltd are looking for a reliable adaptable and enthusiastic Field Service Technician due to the continued growth of our operation, who thrives on a challenge. Some previous Printer, IT repair, Copier, AV or very similar experience is preferred albeit not essential.

A full driving license enabling you to drive a full sized transit van (manual) or similar (Due to insurance, drivers must be over 25 with a minimum 1 years driving record) is an essential requirement. This role is subject to a smart casual dress code.

While experience in any of these fields would be desirable, it is not essential as full training will be provided along with detailed scripting and support.

Essentially, you must possess good communication skills, geographical knowledge, team working skills and an excellent customer service manner, as you will be required to visit our customers sites on a daily basis, which are both business and home based.

Your daily tasks will vary from a simple delivery to a full replacement hardware task or even a software load. No two days are ever the same, so adaptability is essential.

Although primarily home based, your normal collection depot location will be as stated above, you will be expected upon request to cover surrounding areas and neighbouring depots should the need arise, as we do not operate to fixed areas.

You will be provided with a vehicle, fuel card, mobile phone, appropriate tooling and any other equipment required to enable you to complete your daily duties. Additionally, full training will be provided.

While the nature of our business can make for some demanding call volume days, each day will be different and full of new challenges, so this post is not for someone who likes a fixed routine. Equally there are days when just a few jobs need doing.

We are a seven day a week of business, so the position will be subject to shift patterns which will include weekend cover on a rota basis. A standard shift pattern operates on a five days on two days off basis, normally covering 40 hours per week.

Overtime will be paid for any additional hours over those contracted for each week and all positions are subject to 28 days annual holiday (pro rata)

About us

Despite the challenges that Adult Social Care has faced within the last 12 months, our approach in Buckinghamshire has not been to take shelter and wait for the storm to pass. Instead, we have chosen to transform and restructure Adult Social Care so we can respond to a crisis as well as build for the future.

We have day centres across Burnham, Aylesbury, Chesham, Beaconsfield and Buckingham with each centre offering short break day services to vulnerable adults and supporting them to live independent, full lives.

Our day centres offer a number of services, some being more specialised, but the core function of all of our centres is to provide support and care to clients and their families so they can learn new skills, meet new people and develop their independence through a variety of activities.

About the role

As a Social Care Assistant working within our day centre, you will be supporting adults with learning disabilities and elderly clients to provide them with personal care, feeding, employment support, domestic skills and activities such as arts and crafts, music and drama, and much more!

No two days will be the same as you meet a variety of people and support their individual needs. Some of the work tasks you will carry out include:

- Providing personal care for individuals, this may include but is not limited to dressing, toileting, washing and general housekeeping.

- Providing people with information and advice in relation to care and support and assistance in accessing care and support through various means.

- Ensuring an agreed plan meets individual’s care and support outcomes needs and to empower the individual to access early intervention and preventative services.

- Informing senior colleagues and adhere to safeguarding procedure of any concerns which arise in relation to the safety of vulnerable adults.

Fixed

As a ‘fixed’ worker, you’ll spend most of your time in the same location, which will likely be a fixed office or location where your role is performed. Typically, you’ll be based in the same location as the rest of your team, because you provide a particular service from that fixed location or need access to information there.

About you

Naturally, you will be a great people person, able to deliver practical care and support to an agreed plan using your own initiative to problem solve and utilising remote management oversight, where required.

This may involve undertaking a specialist role that requires specific training (e.g. autism services) or undertaking and administering personal care and/or medication.

Your new company
We are seeking a knowledgeable ITSM Consultant with a focus on Service Desk and Request Management to lead the design and implementation of these practices for a prestigious client. This role will involve establishing a new service desk that enhances user experience through innovative channels and developing a Request Catalogue that improves access to services for the user community.
Your responsibilities

• Define and communicate the overall mission of the practices, including the roadmap, goals, and objectives.
• Create a comprehensive roadmap for the Service Desk, considering B2B, Shared Service, and B2C models.
• Align, document, and maintain policies, processes, and procedures, ensuring regular reviews are conducted.
• Design and develop a Request Catalogue aimed at automating service delivery wherever possible.
• Establish a governance framework for handling non-standard requests.
• Resolve cross-functional issues as they arise.
• Support the selection and onboarding of a new Service Desk.
• Coordinate design and build activities within a multivendor environment.
• Assist in the RFP and contracting processes for Service Desk, ITSM, and SIAM services as needed.
• Apply organisational design principles to Service Desk and Request Management.
• Ensure consistent service delivery across the organisation, integrating with other processes, systems, teams, and roles.
• Establish monitoring, measurement, and reporting systems for practice performance, presenting insights to senior management.
  
  
  

What you'll need to succeed

• Strong understanding of ITIL Best Practices (V3 / ITIL4). Minimum ITIL Foundation certification.
• Proven leadership experience in defining/strategising, designing, and establishing a Service Desk and Request Practice.
• In-depth knowledge of the role of Service Desk and Request Management within enterprise environments.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with diverse stakeholders, including C-Level executives.
• Experience in dynamic operational settings with evolving timelines and requirements.
• Familiarity with enterprise Service Management solutions, particularly Service Desk channels, AI/ML, automation, and user experience/customer experience integrations.
