Job Purpose

To manage a team of staff responsible for providing a range of specialist financial and service improvement advice to the Council's services, to ensure effective management of resources, proper
accountability and control and compliance with the statutory obligations of the Section 151 Officer and corporate standards.

Main responsibilities

Cheadle Hulme High School (CHHS) is the founder school of the Laurus Trust. We are a hugely oversubscribed school with a reputation locally, and further afield, for outstanding teaching and learning through the relentless pursuit of excellence and a determination to ensure that every child succeeds. CHHS was judged Outstanding in every category by Ofsted in 2011 and 2015.

In the 2024 KS4 Progress 8 Headline measure, CHHS came in the top 5% of non-selective schools nationally. We are delighted that CHHS is regularly named as one of the UK’s top-performing schools in The Sunday Times annual Parent Power Surveys and this year, we were awarded ‘Northwest Comprehensive School of the Year 2024’. About you

The right values, attitude and behaviours are more important than your previous career background. Therefore whilst previous care experience is desirable it is not essential and we'll provide all the training and support you need to thrive. You don't need any qualifications to get started as a Care Assistant.

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Housing Officer to join a team supporting vulnerable asylum seekers across Ellesemere Port and Cheshire. As a Housing Officer, you will ensure a high standard of accommodation and compliance with the Asylum Accommodation and Support Services Contract (AASC), focusing on the safety and well-being of service users across Cheshire and Ellesmere Port.
THE ROLE
Key responsibilities include:

• Conduct monthly inspections of properties to ensure safety and compliance.
• Oversee onboarding and withdrawal of properties as per Local Operating Procedures.
• Identify and report property faults, categorizing them for prompt response.
• Undertake minor property repairs within trained scope and provided toolkit.
• Administer operational cash for utility top-ups and emergency payments.
• Manage customer complaints and support issue resolution.
• Participate in the on-call rota to ensure 24/7 service availability.

THE CANDIDATE
Candidates should ideally have experience in a property-related role, though a strong commitment to supporting asylum seekers and excellent communication skills are more important. You should also bring:

• A solid background in face-to-face roles with strong people skills.
• Confidence in conflict management and resolution.
• Strong organizational abilities to handle a demanding workload.
• A valid UK driving licence, with willingness to travel between properties.
• The ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and external partners.

What You Will Do:


Branch Management: Oversee the day-to-day management and coordination of the branch to ensure efficient and profitable operations while maintaining the highest standard of domiciliary care.
CQC Registration: Hold the CQC registration for the branch and ensure compliance with CQC guidelines.
Record Keeping and Reporting: Maintain accurate records, produce reports, and investigate complaints from service users and employees.
Recruitment and Staffing: Manage the recruitment process, including actively recruiting new care staff, guiding them through onboarding, and creating weekly staffing rotas.
Business Development: Identify and pursue new business opportunities to support the commercial growth of the branch.
Operational Compliance: Stay updated on operational issues and methods. Ensure compliance with health and safety, emergency regulations, and operational policies.
Operational Review: Regularly review branch operations to ensure all customer needs are met and policies and procedures are communicated and implemented effectively.
Quality Service Management: Manage a robust quality service that promotes high standards and positive outcomes for service users.
Emergency Duties: Provide emergency hands-on care, undertake on-call duties, attend social events if required, and offer emergency telephone assistance to care staff.
Liaison and Coordination: Effectively liaise with other departments, employees, key stakeholders such as commissioners and customers, and the public.
Additional Duties: Perform other duties as requested to support the branch’s success.




What We Are Looking For:


Experience in Care Management: Minimum 3 years previous experience in a managerial or supervisory capacity in the domiciliary care sector is essential.
Qualifications: NVQ/QCF Level 5 in Health and Social Care is required.
Leadership Skills: Proven ability to effectively lead, delegate, and mentor staff.
Organisational Skills: Strong organisational abilities with experience in producing staffing rotas and managing multiple responsibilities.
Flexibility: Ability to work flexibly, including extended hours where necessary, and provide hands-on care during staff shortages.
Reliability: Reliable and punctual with a commitment to upholding the highest standards of care.
Driving License: A valid driving license and access to a vehicle are required.
Work Related Car Insurance: Hold or willing to obtain work related car insurance.
Background Checks: Willingness to undergo enhanced DBS clearance.
