An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 5 Audiologist to join our Bury Community Audiology Service . The post is for full time 4 days working from 8.00am until 6.00pm

The Bury Audiology Service is friendly, forward thinking and experienced with a good skill mix. It is an innovative and dynamic service that provides assessment, treatment and advice to adults and children with hearing difficulties.

You will provide routine audiological services on patients of varying ages in line with service requirements as part a team.

Key Responsibilities of the Post:
• Perform diagnostic audiological tests.
• Select, fit and rehabilitate patients with hearing aids using a complex computer system.

The service operates over the core hours of 8.00am - 6.00pm Monday to Friday and Saturday mornings.

Preferred working hours - 37.5 over 4 days. 8.00am - 6.00pm

We are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated person to join our team. You will be working alongside our experienced qualified staff which consists of the Falls and Fracture Liaison Service Team Lead, a Physiotherapist, a therapy support worker and a Nurse. We also have a Clerical Officer on the team.

As a Therapy Assistant, you will be required to assist our multidisciplinary team in the delivery of treatment of patients, working in their own homes or in residential settings. You will be working without direct supervision undertaking tasks delegated by qualified staff and will be expected to take an active role in co-ordinating, delivering and evaluating individual patient care. Support will be given by our experienced qualified staff.

An ability to travel to different geographical locations across the Trust footprint in line with service needs is essential, and a full UK driving licence and access to own vehicle would be desirable for this community role.

Please note this is NOT a healthcare assistant/support worker role. This is a therapy based role in the community. Therefore, priority will be given to candidates with previous knowledge and experience in a similar role.

To implement treatment programmes to patients in the community who have been assessed initially by qualified staff in the Falls and Fracture Liaison Service.

To take responsibility for an active caseload under the direction of the qualified therapy staff. This will include the treatment of patients in their own homes, clinics, residential and nursing care settings, working as a lone worker.

About the role
Assist with planning, implementation and monitoring the effectiveness of our Health and Safety policy and procedures. Manage the Health and Safety Coordinators; DSE assessors; Fire Marshalls; and First Aiders, championing their work to ensure competent, efficient, and productive delivery of objectives in line with prioritised health and safety cultural improvements

Responsibilities

• Support and audit local managers' health and safety management and liaise with the appropriate manager to ensure that issues are addressed within an appropriate time frame.
• Create action plans in response to audits and monitor delivery.
• Investigate Town Hall incidents and audit incident investigations for non-Town
• Hall incidents. Maintain an incident record database; analyse incident data to produce quarterly and annual reports for Management meetings.
• Develop and deliver competent effective and efficient health and safety training to staff (internal and external)
• Support Comms in maintaining an H & S folder on the extranet.
• Conduct regular inspections and audits of council's work sites and activities
• Work in partnership with the Safety & Resilience Team to develop best practice, such as monitoring of behaviours and cultures, while ensuring that we can still get the job done (risk aware not risk averse).

Qualifications and knowledge
