The In service Engineering - SystemsTeam at Airbus India utilizes primarily understanding of various Aircraft Systems and customer technical support competencies. This team is responsible for providing short term and long term troubleshooting and  technical support to customers operating Airbus Aircrafts for issues related to various aircraft systems. The team primarily works with Airbus commercial customers. The team works with design organization, data analytics and Airbus Skywise team to identify solutions for long-term issues. 

This team is part of the In Service Engineering department that works on providing global in service engineering support for all structures and systems related topics. 

Job Responsibilities

We are looking for an In-Service Engineer - Propulsion Systems who is self-motivated and driven to provide support for in-Service Engineering issues for Engine, APU and Nacelle systems and being responsible for:

• Analyzing all in-service events to identify potential impacts on safety, airworthiness, reliability, quality, cost of ownership, passenger and crew comfort,as well as operational costs.,

• Identifying and solving in-service issues by monitoring events, identifying fleet impact, analyzing causes and solutions in coordination with Engineering and Programs.

• Contributing to the improvement of powerplant systems maturity and reliability.

• Attend technical meetings with different stakeholders (customer services teams, system designers, suppliers, etc.)

• Proposing solutions and becoming the “voice to the customer”. 

• Preparing and publishing technical documents to customers.

• Participate and contribute to technical forums.

• To meet & discuss with customers (from technical meeting to Worldwide symposium) to provide technical information.

• Ensuring transfer of in-service experience and maintenance activities to the management, to other divisions of Customer Services and Airbus design organization including vendors.

• Ensuring a qualitative communication/ marketing of available solutions to operators.

• Using data analytics Airbus tools (typically Skywise Services), develop or utilize available data analytics dashboards to provide visibility on Airbus product reliability.

Required experience & Skills

• B.Tech./B.E./M.Tech./M.E. in aerospace or mechanical engineering with minimum 10 years of experience in Aerospace industry

• Business Proficiency in English

• Good understanding of Thermodynamics and Propulsion systems- Aeroengine, APU and Nacelle systems.

• Good understanding of in service issues related to Propulsion systems and their mitigation

• Airline operations knowledge 

• Service minded and highly customer focus, able to understand customer needs

• Advanced interpersonal & coordination skills to work in close collaboration with Multi Functional Teams, external stakeholders in a multicultural environment,

Nice to Have

• Proficiency in quickly grasping the technical details of different aircraft systems and associating the technology to solve relevant problem statements.

• Good understanding of Airbus data analytics tool and use of different data visualization techniques useful for in-service domain

As the successful candidate you will join the team in charge of the in-service AIRBUS A/C fleet, engineering support for Auto Flight, Navigation, Communication & Datalink Systems (ATA22/23/34/46) & Handling Qualities Analysis, within the In-Service Engineering Centre Of Competence (COC), “1S” siglum/organization.

What you will be doing – Tasks & Responsibilities: 

As avionics system engineer, you are accountable for responding to customer queries on daily queries/reports regarding the recording systems (Auto Flight, Navigation, Communication & Datalink Systems), for the whole Airbus commercial fleet and all customers, on time & quality,

The Jobholder exercises the Repair approval legal privileges granted by EASA to Airbus in full compliance with Part 21 and Design organization Approval requirements, maintaining the Airbus privileges for repair design approval, ensuring on time approval for the continued satisfaction of our customers.

The jobholder guarantees the Airworthiness of the repair design defined by Airbus, verifying for repair that event relative to airworthiness are reported by In service occurrence, reporting airworthiness issue to a Chief Airworthiness Engineer.

Main problems to be solved in the position:

The requirements for the Repair Compliance Verification Engineer/ Designated Airworthiness Engineer (CVE/DAE) for the Repair Approval process are:

• Reviews the repair dossier from the Customer Services, appraises the repair design, verifies the compliance to applicable requirements as Compliance Verification Engineer (CVE), if relevant, and completes the repair Approval Designee checklist in order to approve the Repair, as Designated Airworthiness Engineer (DAE) or communicate specific refusal to the customer support.
• Verifies the correctness of the repair design archiving, checks the possible unsafe conditions and report airworthiness issues to the Repair approval manager and the relevant Chief Airworthiness Engineer (CAE) to guarantee product safety and maintain our privilege
• When required, manages the AMOC acceptance dossiers with the CAE and the Authorities.
• Communicates to the customer Services by answering timely to our Customer in order to maintain Airbus Brand Image
• Report issues in order to support the head of repair approval, for training or reporting or improvement on the repair approval.
• The same individual shall be able to manage both roles of CVE and DAE in the repair approval process. Repair CVE/DAE should have sufficient capability in terms of skills, Knowledge of tools, constraints and duties to support the repair approval tasks.

Airframe team at Airbus India is looking for an experienced engineer who can be trained to become CVE/DAE for the Repair Approval team in Airbus India, Bangalore, working with the Repair approval 1IAZE, Repair and Engineering services, Product Integrity in Toulouse, France.

Job scope (Tasks & accountabilities):

The Jobholder exercises the Repair approval legal privileges granted by EASA to Airbus in full compliance with Part 21 and Design organization Approval requirements, maintaining the Airbus privileges for repair design approval, ensuring on time approval for the continued satisfaction of our customers.

The jobholder guarantees the Airworthiness of the repair design defined by Airbus, verifying for repair that event relative to airworthiness are reported by In service occurrence, reporting airworthiness issue to a Chief Airworthiness Engineer.

Main problems to be solved in the position:

The requirements for the Repair Compliance Verification Engineer/ Designated Airworthiness Engineer (CVE/DAE) for the Repair Approval process are:

• Reviews the repair dossier from the Customer Services, appraises the repair design, verifies the compliance to applicable requirements as Compliance Verification Engineer (CVE), if relevant, and completes the repair Approval Designee checklist in order to approve the Repair, as Designated Airworthiness Engineer (DAE) or communicate specific refusal to the customer support.
• Verifies the correctness of the repair design archiving, checks the possible unsafe conditions and report airworthiness issues to the Repair approval manager and the relevant Chief Airworthiness Engineer (CAE) to guarantee product safety and maintain our privilege
• When required, manages the AMOC acceptance dossiers with the CAE and the Authorities.
• Communicates to the customer Services by answering timely to our Customer in order to maintain Airbus Brand Image
• Report issues in order to support the head of repair approval, for training or reporting or improvement on the repair approval.
• The same individual shall be able to manage both roles of CVE and DAE in the repair approval process. Repair CVE/DAE should have sufficient capability in terms of skills, Knowledge of tools, constraints and duties to support the repair approval tasks.

Means made available:

• Access to all the technical manuals: SRM / SB / MPD / NTM / AMM / MMEL / AD
• Specific repair communication tools: TRM, RMT, AIRDOC
• Delegation process related documentation (and specific training).

Major end purposes:

Signature Delegation (Check / Approve/ Refuse) in order to deliver Repair approval documents in line with Customer expectation.

Required Domain Expertise (skills):

• Graduate/Post Graduate Engineer (Aerospace Engineering / Mechanical Engineering/Civil Engineering)
• Structural Engineer, widely experienced on structure engineering knowledge, with an integrated view of the aircraft Design and its operation/maintenance with the following requirements :
• The engineer has a proven experience on large aircraft structure, and preferably on Airbus products. This experience is gained from areas such as manufacture, maintenance or design and the most appropriate is that of structural stress engineer.
• Good knowledge about Aircraft structure
• Significant background in hand calculation (static and/or Fatigue)
• Technically competent with the Design principles used to the compliance data.
• Exposure to Structural Repair Manual and other Aircraft maintenance documents is an added advantage.
• Significant knowledge about calculation method, good understanding of structural behaviour.
• Conceptual Knowledge/Understanding of Airbus Tools for Static and/or Fatigue calculations is preferable
• Exposure to Airbus stress and/or F&DT manuals

These experiences will reinforce the back ground of the candidate, his/her capacity in understanding, integrated design, airworthiness and maintenance/operations of an aircraft.

The position has an Airworthiness function, the following requirements are a plus:

• Engineer should be knowledgeable of the Airworthiness domain, on process product and technical requirements and integrated aircraft design, in addition should be able to question and to understand application of technical airworthiness requirements.
• Should have a sound knowledge of Product Design.
• Conversant with the roles and responsibilities of a Type Certificate holder operating under a Design Organization Approval granted by EASA.
• Experience in the various approval procedures (EASA Part 21 / CS / JAR / FAR).

•  5-12 years.

Group Manager-Customer Services is part of the Information Management (IM) function and is responsible for the day to day management of Customer Services team (part of ERP & Operation Solutions), which is located within IM Global In-house Centre (GIC). Position: Aircraft In Service System Installtion Engineer (MSI and/or ESI)
Job Location: Bengaluru
Experience: 3-10 years

The main activities are to define repair solutions while respecting a given A/C System/structure and its accessibiity and constraints of material and spare part availability. raising and co-ordination of documentation. The job holder is expected to be a signatory in the System Installation / structural design / analysis domain or posess the required skill & competency to achieve the expected signatory rights. Furthermore the engineer, within the scope of their delegated signatory status, is responsible for ensuring that issued repair solutions are correct in regard to the suitability and validity. 
The various task to perform are:
 • Manage and process all MSI / ESI (Mechanical / Electrical System Installation) activities in cooperation with customer service teams, chief engineering teams, airframe, systems and partners.
• Search: the right inputs to carry out assessments of a given damage scenario 
            o Query the right drawings for the Aircraft configuration.
            o Use hand calculations / computer methods.
• Propose & Analyze: the In Service repair solutions for airlines.
            o Support In Service requests from customer,            
            o Contribute SB (Service Bulletin) activities,
            o Investigate damage parts,
            o Collaborate on ISOs (In-Service Reportable Occurrence),
            o Contribute to SRM
             o Develop capabilities and processes to enable and enhance Time, Cost, Quality delivery to the Programmes,
• Link up with customer service and design teams to ensure full satisfaction of our Customers.
• Out of hours support (Stand by).
• On site working when required.
Liaise across stakeholders (eg: Design, Stress / F&DT, Aero, Materials, Perfo etc.)
