Position duties for a body radiologist include but are not limited to the following:
- Provides expert interpretation of advanced body MRI exams including prostate, liver, rectal, and female pelvic MRI.
- Interprets low-dose CTs for an established Lung Cancer Screening program, and general chest, abdomen, and pelvis CTs.
- Interprets general ultrasound and plain films.
- Supports patient care services with communication of exam results appropriate to the level of clinical importance or acuity.
- Consults with providers on various aspects of imaging such as exam selection or appropriateness criteria.
- Prescribes exam protocols and modifies as needed for specific clinical indications.
- Provides oversight of technical image quality with feedback to technologists.
- Provides education and supervision of diagnostic radiology residents rotating from the University of California, Irvine.
- Provides education for members of the medical staff through interdisciplinary conferences/ tumor boards (e.g., Pulmonary, Liver/GI, and Genitourinary), committees, or lecture series.
- Attends staff meetings and participates in peer review/ peer learning.
- Completes all mandatory annual training and maintains BLS certification.
