Functions as a member of the Facilities Management Department, Administration Division, Federal Bureau of Prisons(BOP), Central Office, Washington, D.C.

Responsible for the maintenance and repair of all Central Office buildings and structures.

Performs a wide range of general maintenance duties in the Central Office buildings. The Central Office building includes 490,000 gross square feet and houses approximately 2,000 employees.

Responsible for various phases associated with the construction, repair, maintenance, and renovation of buildings and related structures, grounds, fixtures, and utilities, requiring the use of a variety of trade practices such as carpentry, masonry, plumbing, cement work, painting, welding, roofing, electric, HVAC, and other related trades.

• Sets up bars for operation, obtains cash bank and stocks service bar.
• Assures an adequate stock level is maintained, sets up storeroom and work area to permit easy access to stock items.
• Prepare a limited variety of simple alcoholic beverages.
• Records sales, makes change or prepares charge slips in accordance with operating procedures.
• Keeps bar, utensils, equipment and work area clean and sanitary.
• Uses tact and courtesy to deny further sales to persons whose conduct has become unruly or who appear to be intoxicated.

Conduct and evaluate a wide range of program management and administrative duties to fulfill requirements related to Veterans Health Administration's (VHA) academic mission and Office of Academic Affiliations' (OAA) strategic plans.

Establish, maintain, and evaluate the quality of Health Professions Education (HPE) programs and the quality of care delivered by health professions trainees (HPTs) at the VA medical facility.

Responsible for the technical work required for HPE programs including affiliation agreements, trainee qualifications and credentials letter (TQCVL), program letters of agreement (PLAs), direct HPT/affiliate staff customer service, and the on/off­ boarding processes of HPTs to include proper application documentation, appointment, security clearance, mandatory training, physical and logistical access, and data collection for OAA reporting.

Inform management with authoritative analyses, policy guidance and opinions regarding HPT appointment and on and off-boarding processes as it relates to HPE programs.

Enact process changes with OAA, affiliate staff, facility leadership, clinical and administrative service lines by implementing SOPs, developing and administering training programs, and advising on HPE regulations.

Maintain a broad perspective and comprehensive understanding of health care system administration and HPE programs is required to achieve OAA policy compliance and maximize utilization of resources.

Work independently and respond to requests for information and guidance from all levels of the organization.

Contributes to effective management and growth of local programs and academic affiliates to attract HPTs with the goal of eventual recruitment into VHA clinical provider positions.

Provide complex coordination across clinical and administrative service lines for process improvements to the on and off boarding processes of new healthcare professionals.

Utilizes knowledge and experience in health care delivery systems to oversee and manage HPT experiences from start to finish.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements: The work is primarily sedentary; although, some slight physical effort is required. Accompanying HPTs through the medical site or clinical training site may be required. Some work may require walking and standing in conjunction with travel to and attendance at meetings and conferences away from the worksite. Stamina and concentration to meet crucial deadlines is required.

Work Conditions: The work is performed in a typical office environment located in a health care facility. The work environment involves everyday risks and discomforts that require normal safety precautions. The responsibilities of the position require occasional travel and may subject the position to various resultant environmental changes.

• • Responsible for planning, scheduling and assigning work; evaluates, advises, and reviews work of subordinates and set priorities.

• • Responsible for daily activities and provide overall direction and supervision under the administrative functions of financial programs; fiscal; personnel; property and supply; common services; management analysis.
• • Coordinates the budget preparation and consolidates, summarizes, and oversees the preparation of justification for the overall financial plan for approval by the Superintendent.
• • Provide administrative direction to personnel management program in accordance with established standards and policies.
• • Counsel employees regarding benefits, represents management in Labor Relations, and conducts training sessions on administrative matters.
• • Provides oversight on all Public Law 93-638 contract programs.
• • Conduct studies and makes recommendations on utilization of office space, equipment and organizational structure for maximum benefits, to include communications utilities, and duplication of services.

• You will Serves as a technical advisor on Personnel Security rules, regulations, and procedures for PSNS and IMF Department Security Coordinators, Supervisors and Managers as well as tenant commands, ships force and contractor personnel.
• You will provide direct assistance to subordinates through internal training and counseling on all aspects of their responsibilities with the program office.
• You will screen and analyze various types of security investigations, ensuring completeness and adequacy of scoping and identifying derogatory information and falsification.
• You will provide notification of approvals and denials to appropriate personnel staffing specialists and reviewers.
