The following are the duties of this position at the full working level.

• Accomplishes various analytical studies and/or projects to resolve substantive problems or improve effectiveness and efficiency of operating line or administrative support programs.
• Prepares action plans and schedules for project accomplishment, both short and long-range; ensures that plans are consistent with Service goals, schedules, and policies.
• Conducts in-depth analyses of project data, requirements, and impact; identifies problem areas and determines how to resolve them.
• Performs complex operational reviews, prepares comprehensive program analyses/evaluations, and/or provides guidelines pertaining to the effectiveness of program operations in meeting established goals and objectives.
• Prepares feasibility studies, directives, memoranda, policy statements, written guidelines and recommendations, oral and written presentations, and/or conducts briefings to communicate findings, advice and recommendations, implementation plans, directives, and guidelines to managers and executives.

This is a career ladder progression position; the duties described below are at the GS-12 level. If selected at a grade below GS-12, the incumbent will serve in a developmental capacity, wherein the work is less complex in nature and the supervisor, or a senior level employee provides specific instruction and guidance.

At the GS-12 grade level, the incumbent:

• Serve as regional leads for the provision of technical assistance and guidance to regional staff, grantees and other stakeholder groups on specific program activities and/or legislative initiatives.
• The review and analysis of State law, regulations and administrative procedures to determine compliance with legal requirements or the review and analysis of project plans and proposals to determine compliance with legal requirements and/or responsiveness to the needs of the customers.
• The incumbent will initiate affirmative action and conduct compliance, and quality reviews of registered apprenticeship programs, encouraging diversity in the use of apprenticeship, and recruiting candidates for apprenticeship.
• Selects successful methods and techniques used by other organizations, adapts, and extends such material to solve problems in similar situations.
• Contacts officials of other organizations to advise on problems and render technical assistance.
• The incumbent will make oral presentations, promoting apprenticeship and allied industrial training in industry on a statewide and local basis; to advise and provide technical assistance to industry, management, labor, and other groups concerned with economic development and employment and apprenticeship training within the regional, state or local area.
• The incumbent will identify trade and skilled apprenticeship occupations, develop on-the-job task analysis, establish wage schedules, and coordinate related classroom training.
• The incumbent analyzes legislation and develops program requirements, establishes and revises program policy and operating procedures, reviews plans and operations for conformity and compliance with program requirements, procedures and policies, provides technical assistance.
• Typically, the incumbent will facilitate the promotion and development of the national apprenticeship and training program, provide advice and assistance, exchange information, develop partnerships and linkages, with a variety of companies, organizations, education, government, state apprenticeship councils, one-stop, workforce development agencies, and special interest groups.

• Implements, coordinates, and/or oversees a variety of management programs and activities that support the processing of immigration and citizenship benefit requests.
• Designs, executes, and engages in specialized studies focused on key functions that enhance program improvement and innovation.
• Responsible for conducting analytical reviews to support document management operations by analyzing data, recommending actions, tracking expenditures, assisting with annual plan reviews, and addressing efficiency-related issues in program areas.
• Serves as a liaison between managers, supervisors, and staff across the agency, as well as with external stakeholders to effectively execute projects and programs, deliver technical assistance, and facilitate training initiatives.

• Serve as a Supervisory Staff Administrator in an Army Reserve Battalion or equivalent size unit.
• Exercise supervision and control on behalf of the Commander.
• Manage, coordinate and integrate the day to day operations of the Battalion.
• Maintain oversight of the readiness status of subordinate units.
• Advise the Commander and staff on policy matters relative to all phases of the United States Army Reserve Command (USAR) program
• Analyze and interpret incoming directives, policies, and instructions to implement the changes in the Battalion.

The Primary Purpose of this position is: This an Air Reserve Technician (ART) Officer position located at an Air Force Reserve Flying Squadron. The purpose of this position is to manage the total operations function of the squadron on a daily basis.

Duties

1. Employees assigned to these positions supervise, direct and monitor operations programs for the training of a Reserve flying unit, including flight operations, unit training, intelligence, communications and tactical planning. Responsible to the Aircraft Operations Officer/Air Commander for all matters pertaining to operational readiness and effectiveness of the unit. Directs all operations and maintenance training programs for the Squadron.
Instructs or examines pilots in flying proficiency, plans flights and training missions, evaluates pilots, plans course outlines. Analyzes directives from higher headquarters and information available in form of accident reports and mission readiness reports in order to develop operational plans, standard operating procedures, and implementing instructions pertaining to General Military Training of Squadron personnel, electronic warfare, tactics training, flight operations, intelligence, and command center communications training.
2. Ensures the operational readiness and effectiveness of the unit. Ensures effective unit manning, retention, and recruitment of personnel.
Manages the Squadron's flying hour program to ensure equitable distribution among the assigned aircrews.
3. Coordinates plans and programs with appropriate staff activities such as personnel, communications, maintenance, intelligence, medical, and armament to insure adequate facilities for aircraft crews.
4. Observes and evaluates effectiveness of training programs and operation of other activities
supervised.
5. Participates in combat training missions and conduct post-mission critiques to evaluate effectiveness and proficiencies of air crews.
6. Directs briefing of combat crews on such phases of mission as formation and tactics, weather, rendezvous points, targets, and expected enemy opposition.

Major duties include, but are not limited to the following:

• Perform installation, maintenance, and/or repair of utility system (i.e., generators, switch gear, controls, circuit breakers) within a facility.
• Maintains controls for equipment in industrial , institutional, office, and residential building.
• Performs work under own responsibility in installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical wiring systems and associated Fixtures, controls, and equipment in industrial, institutional, office and residential buildings.

Major duties and responsibilities include, but not limited to:

• The Pipefitter receives work assignments from the supervisor through work orders, oral instructions, building plans, blueprints and sketches. The pipefitter works on steam piping, valves, steam straps, steam powered equipment, pressure regulators and many other items connected with steam. The incumbent works on disposal and utility systems, such as waste, placement, slant, slope and fall of systems. The pipefitter installs and performs maintenance on all plumbing fixtures and equipment and works with all types of piping and valves (copper, galvanized, black, cast iron, PVC, ABS, glass and fuse seal). The incumbent does rough-in, set and finish, and soft and silver solders and many other items connected with plumbing. The
• Incumbent also does mechanical work such as assembling and repairing wheel chairs, beds, stands, lockers, dietetic, lab, surgical and housekeeping equipment. The incumbent does welding repair by use of electric arc, oxyacetylene, and tig and many other items connected with mechanics.
• Duties of this position require a good knowledge of the proper use and care of power operated equipment such as pipe threading machines, drill presses, core drills, roto hammers, power saws, grinders, welders and hand tools. Strong credit card skills required for processing invoices.
• Assignments include periodic NFPA and JCAHO mandated preventive maintenance inspection of all systems and their components affiliated with the pipefitting trade on a basis set up by the supervisor or management.
• On installation of new work, or correction of a deficiency in the pipefitting utility system, the incumbent may be assigned to plan and lay out the proposed work which will include estimating materials required such as types and amounts; labor required and provides the supervisor with an estimated shut-down time.
• May perform minor HVAC work which includes repairing, adjusting room thermostats, replacing air filters, replacing V belts and cleaning refrigeration condensers.
• May perform minor electrical work which consists of replacing defective fluorescent ballasts, fixtures, lights, switches and outlets.
• Uses PC to enter work orders, enter preventative maintenance work orders, and to order parts

• You will conduct on-site and remote information systems operations as part of a team of government and contractor personnel, and perform analysis, design, development, testing, installation and configuration.
• You will ensure appropriate information assurance security posture by applying critical operating system and platform firmware and driver updates and patches to the images according to Security Technical Implementation Guidelines (STIGs).
• You will develop documentation for tracking of end of life/support and acquisition life cycle activities for network appliances, application, messaging and database systems.
• You will monitor and optimize server and network system performance and security using integrated and third-party system utilities and tools.
• You will identify Cyber security objectives and requirements and incorporate into acquisition and integration plans and document all project phases.
• You will perform configurations, testing, and deployment on Cisco networking devices.
• You will engage with potential vendors to discuss, develop and document technical solutions for information systems including datacenter security stacks and LAN/WAN infrastructures.

• You will need to have knowledge of the makeup, modification, and operation of moderately complex hydromechanical/pneumatic fuel control subassemblies.
• You will diagnose, overhaul, repair, and test various components requiring knowledge of pneumatic, hydraulic, and basic electrical and mechanical principals.
• You will make qualitative evaluations of the internal components of some subassemblies, analyzing the causes of failures, and making the necessary repairs and adjustments to render the components, usable within required specifications.
• You will use hand tools, jigs, fixtures, special tools, test equipment, measuring devices, and cleaning equipment.
• You will select and effectively utilize the proper tooling, including measuring devices such as torque wrenches, feeler gauges, depth gauges, etc.
• You will read and interpret technical data, parts supply manuals, and schematic diagrams.
• You will remove and replace components requiring precise measurements to tolerances of less than one thousandth inch in some applications.
• You will troubleshoot to determine and isolate malfunctions in less complicated assemblies and components.
• You will diagnose operational failures to determine the extent of repairs and whether to rework or replace faulty parts, in less complex subassemblies, assemblies, component's and systems to estimate time required to complete repairs.

• Oversees the total continuity of communications services and operational capabilities involving communications, facilities, and personnel supporting USASA Camp Roberts, 302d Signal Battalion.
• Performs the operations and maintenance duties associated with satellite telecommunications systems and status reporting in support of the Department of Defense and other federal agencies.
• Performs troubleshooting and provides technical direction to ensure timely restoration of optimal telecommunications services involving highly complex and technical issues
• Performs maintenance, provides technical direction, and performs QA/QC involving highly complex and technical issues while working with personnel located in different functional areas and organizations at various echelons.
