- The Senior EEO Specialist plans, organizes, and oversees efforts that are aimed at achieving the EEO Complaint Program accomplishments on challenging cases involving complex and multifaceted issues including cases involving disparate impact, class actions, cases involving senior leaders or similar complicating factors making the case highly sensitive.
- Presents data trends and preventive actions to OEEO leadership, Regional Offices, the Diversity and Inclusion Executive Advisory Council, and FDIC leadership.
- Provides EEO counseling to employees, former employees, or applicants for employment who believe they have been discriminated against based on race, color, national origin, sex, religion, age, physical or mental disability, genetic information, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, or status as a parent. Informs employees, former employees, or applicants for employment of all FDIC and federal options and resources available to them to resolve their issues. Understands these options and resources with sufficient specificity to explain and inform employees on these options. Receives cases directly from FDIC employees and applicants, work is not assigned by supervisor.
- Provides technical advice to managers, supervisor, and individuals participating in the EEO process of their rights and responsibilities under the appropriate legal authorities including, but not limited to, Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, as amended; the Age Discrimination in Employment Act of 1967, as amended; the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, as amended; the Equal Pay Act; or other executive orders or statutes prohibiting discrimination in Federal employment as applicable to the FDIC.
- Develops and presents training. Serves as an expert advisor in matters pertaining to EEO and workplace investigations. Presents, supports, and discusses investigative findings. Coordinates and conducts conferences and meetings to explain EEO policies and principles, the EEO Complaints process, and the prevention of protected class harassment and/or discrimination.
