As a Supervisory Environmental Engineer GS-819-15, you will:

• Conceive, plan, organize, direct, and control, professional and technical engineering services and long-range programs and projects required to identify, evaluate, and control environmental hazards at the NIH due to physical, chemical, and biological materials.
• Evaluate, manage, and control general solid waste, hazardous wastes, medical/ pathological wastes (MPW), and mixed low level radioactive wastes generated at NIH.
• Conduct surveillance and analytical procedures to characterize potential environmental impact and develop necessary specialized equipment, technical systems and programs, and service contracts to comply with Federal, State, and local environmental, hazardous, and solid waste laws and regulations, including the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA).

As a Physical Scientist, you will perform the following duties:

• Develop, transition, and maintain coupled earth system models and associated computer-based technologies to improve National Centers for Environmental Prediction (NCEP) Environmental Modeling Center (EMC) environmental forecasts and services.
• Participate in modeling of weather, subseasonal and seasonal predictions. Coordinate with external partners and present coupled numerical model research and development activities.

Demonstrate knowledge of invoice and obligation analysis, budget execution, and auditing. The OAM also serves as the headquarters for the interagency Advanced Manufacturing National Program Office (AMNPO). If hired as an Information Specialist for OAM, you will serve as a Partnership and Outreach Coordinator responsible for:

• Coordinating key projects and programs across the Division's portfolio of communication, outreach, and education and workforce development-related products and services for and with Manufacturing USA network partners.
