We aim to place a greater emphasis on sustainability and giving back to the community. However, whatever your needs are, our building services are tailored to you.
We are expanding our services to bring inhouse Cabinet Makers and are currently searching for an experienced Cabinet Maker to join our team in Brookvale.
About the Role:
Cabinet makers make or repair furniture from solid timber, flat-panel or timber-based products. Cabinet Makers may specialise in particular areas such as re-production of antique furniture, kitchen fittings, bedroom suites, office furniture, dining suites, shop fittings and occasional furniture.
Some of the key responsibilities are:
- Receiving new orders from customers and discussing the details of the job;
- Prepare drawings from specifications or work out job requirements by looking at drawings and specifications;
- Choosing the right timber, veneers, particle board, or synthetic wood for the job;
- Mark out, cut and shape pieces using saws, chisels, planes, power tools and woodworking machines;
- Using drawings and specifications to mark out, cut, and shape the wood;
- Fitting parts together to form sections of furniture, and then assembling the sections to create the finished article;
- Install completed products;
- Repairing and refurbishing damaged furniture and cabinets;
- Meeting project deadlines and staying within budget;
- Keeping all equipment in working condition;
- Understanding all relevant WH&S Legislation and implementing as appropriate to ensure that all safety rules, emergency procedures and fire prevention regulations are strictly adhered to.
To be considered you must have a level of skill commensurate with an AQF Certificate IV and 2 years of related employment experience OR at least three years of relevant experience may substitute for the formal qualifications listed above.
This is a full time role, an immediate start is available. A salary package of $90,000 - $100,000 will be offered to the successful candidate.
