About the role
Balfour Beatty has an exciting opportunity for a Supervisor (Pway/Civils) to join our Rail business unit to work from our Aston Depot.
Role Purpose: To assist the Senior Supervisor and Renewals Manager in the planning and safe delivery of Track Renewal work in compliance with the appropriate Network Rail Group and Line Standards and Safety Legislation within agreed Target costs.

Bringing together knowledge and experience in critical rail infrastructure and track renewals, the alliance deploys innovative working methods to realise efficiencies and create a more reliable railway infrastructure.
What you'll be doing
As a Supervisor, you will have the following accountabilities:
- Assist in the detailed planning and execution of Track Renewal and Enhancement Works as allocated by the Renewals Manager;
- Responsible for planning and directing the activities of track staff;
- Manage the work to meet agreed financial targets, performance KRAs and other KPI’s;
- Manage works in compliance with the CRSA technical specifications, processes and procedures and Network Rail Group and Line Standards;
- Undertake the delivery of works monitoring that any staff deployed on the CRSA Worksites are trained and competent;
- Optimise the utilisation of resources in delivery of all works;
- Undertake safety inspection as stipulated in Alliance procedures and requirements;
- Submit Daily Work Returns (Planned v Actuals) in a timely manner;
- Undertake accident/incident investigations as required;
- Support the Senior Renewals Manager in delivering the Alliance Programme as required;
- Assist with the provision of technical and delivery support to the Track and Drainage Senior Engineer, Senior Supervisor and Renewals Manager Team as required;
- Deliver Duty Management and ‘On Call’ as required.
Who we're looking for
You will have the following:
- Demonstrable experience in Permanent Way maintenance/track renewals at least performing at Assistant Site Supervisors level;
- In depth knowledge of Track Renewals discipline;
- Excellent knowledge of Rules and Regulations, HASAW and other appropriate regulations, including Group Standards;
- Knowledge of financial controls;
- Excellent interpersonal, communication and management skills;
- Ability to write clear and concise reports;
- Ability to drive;
- PTS, COSS and Engineering Supervisor (SWL2).
