The role
As a Capability Director, you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary. This is an exciting opportunity to mould the business for the future through innovative ideas and supporting the implementation of these proposals.
Day-to-day, you'll be responsible for the creation and implementation of change management strategies and plans that engage our employees, providing the environment to deliver early adoption of our new ways of working, delivering simple context and working through change resistance. You will also:
- Work to drive faster adoption, higher ultimate utilisation and greater employee effectiveness achieving the right results and outcomes.
- Leadership of the delivery of multiple initiative projects, concurrently and in line with the timescales planned
- Effective and efficient project coordination, communication and reporting to ensure the right people, know the right things, at the right time, to deliver success and achieve deadlines
- Working with change leads to assist in scoping, governing, and delivering the required deliverables to realise the benefits required
- Working with both Defence and functional colleagues to bring appropriate resource into the workstream to deliver the changes required
- Supporting the delivery of the changes by removing and reducing barriers and blockages to progress
This role is full time, 37 hours per week and provides hybrid working arrangements with days in the office/onsite and days working from home.
Essential experience of the Capability Director:
- Substantial experience in project / programme management
- Proven and extensive leadership of successfully delivered complex or transformational projects to time and budget
- Exceptional leadership skills evidencing collaboration
- Cultural and operational change management experience working in a senior leadership role; able to understand operational dynamics and build a strong, positive working culture
- Excellent communicator with the ability to provide strong, stable, and clear direction
Qualifications for the Capability Director:
- Completed (or working towards) project management methodology (e.g. APM, PRINCE2)
