Reporting to the NLFT CEO, the Programme Director is responsible for leading a range of NLFT projects and associated business change activities related to the Programme.

The role manages the St Pancras Programme Sponsor Group, as well as the relationship with KCCLP, and has primary responsibility for successful delivery of the required outcomes, including the establishment of appropriate governance and assurance, monitoring progress, managing risks and issues and ensuring the business readiness for change.

Having successfully delivered two state of the art mental health facilities at Highgate East and Lowther Road, the Programme has undertaken a major review of the scope of next stages and will be delivering additional improved facilities for mental health services (provided by NLFT), both on the existing site and other local sites. The site is currently home to a kidney dialysis unit (provided by Royal Free London NHSFT), and the move of this facility to another local site will require close co-ordination with the wider Programme. The new health facilities on site, coupled with Project Oriel, a world-leading centre for advancing eye health (delivered by Moorfields Eye Hospital and UCL) and extensive regeneration of the area by KCCLP gives the Programme the potential to be a world-class healthcare-led urban regeneration programme.

About the role: Associate Clinical Director This role would suit a Senior Registrar taking a year out of training or a GP with a license to practise wanting to expand into a different role. You will need to have at least three years experience in your current position. The role of Associate Clinical Director will work alongside all functions across Medefer (including Medical Directorate, Clinical Governance and Quality Assurance, Safeguarding, Primary Care and Operations) to support in ensuring that all patients served by Medefer receive high quality, safe, effective, and compassionate health care. Key areas of responsibility within the role will be within the domains of clinical safety and support, quality improvement, risk investigation and mitigation. The salary for this role will be paid in line with national pay scales relevant to your level of training and experience. The role is remote working with some office-based meetings required. The expectation is that the majority of the work will be done between the hours of 09.00 and 17.00 with some evening meetings. Key Responsibilities: Working with the Patient Safety team to support both local and companywide investigations and processes including harm reviews. Oversee the completion of mortality reviews. To support the Medefer Safeguarding Lead with investigations and the implementation of safeguarding procedures. Coordinating clinical audits, both proactive and reactive, into care quality providing feedback and escalating as appropriate. Provide additional capacity to support clinical administration as and when service requirements demand. This will also provide insights into the structure and running of the organisation which will be an advantage. Support the prescribing pathway when needed in prescribing medication for patients. Provide clinical support (with support of the Chief Medical Officer and Medical Director) during the week to non-clinical and junior staff members. Supporting implementation of new clinical services including clinical pathway mapping. Support registrars in conjunction with the deputy medical director, operational and HR teams, including managing queries, feedback and investigations into SEs related to registrars. Support building and scaling processes surrounding the roles and responsibilities covered under this job description. About You: Registrar or GP with a minimum of 3 years experience in your current role GMC registered with a licence to practice Clinical qualifications and background within the NHS Knowledge of standards and DCB0129 and 0160 requirements NHS informatics experience preferred Has attended Safeguarding Level 3 training (both adults and children) (training would be considered for the right candidate) Project Management skills, principles and practices Excellent work ethic and resilient - organised, dedicated and committed to professionalism Highly adaptable, mobile, positive risk-taker who is open to new ideas and able to evaluate risks and constraints Excellent interpersonal skills with an ability to identify and understand customer needs and strives to provide the best possible service, focuses on outcomes. Strategic Responsibilities Implementation and delivery of a financial strategy for the Trust within the context of the Trust's strategic direction and taking account of national resources and policy.
