Your new role
As the Associate Director/Manager within this Firm's R&D team, you will be client facing and lead the technical aspects of R&D claims, interviews and prepare documentation to support R&D claims. You will be working with senior technical and finance staff.


Key Duties:

• Analysing technical and cost data from clients to develop robust and efficient R&D claim methodologies
• Lead the interview process with technical experts to understand their R&D activity, summarising output from these interviews in documentation format
• Leading technical aspects of the R&D claim preparation process within a project
• Preparing clear reports for submission to HMRC.

What you'll need to succeed
The successful R&D professional will have a degree in Engineering or Science with post-grad experience of working in an engineering, manufacturing or scientific role. We are looking to recruit at Manager or Associate Director level. This role would be integrated into the wider Birmingham tax team, but also into the national ESG/Reward team. Supporting the national partners on projects won from elsewhere, with access to the junior staff from the national Reward team as required, but you would also focus on winning (with partner support) work from Birmingham clients and servicing work locally.


What you'll need to succeed
Someone with at least a few years specialist Reward/share schemes experience is required for this role rather than a generalist looking to specialise. We are also open to recruiting from law firms provided that they are already specialists.

The Deputy Chief People Officer is the most senior People & Organisational Development (OD) leadership role below the Executive and has responsibility for developing and driving a high performance People & OD service culture whilst also putting in place a range of large-scale initiatives that give our people the best experience in the NHS.
