BACKGROUND TO THE POST

This post will be based in Redditch / Bromsgrove.

The programme is specifically designed to engage with 16-25 year olds who are not in education, employment or training (NEETs) and provides them with an opportunity to re-engage in learning, participate in community projects, team work, attend residential visits and individual work placements.

The Team Leader will deliver the 12 week programme face-to-face with young people and work closely and effectively with local agencies and organisations to recruit team members. At the end of the 12 week programme, the post holder is expected to evaluate the programme and write reports.


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Recruitment of the team of young people, including liaising with training managers, employment services, careers officers, employers, youth organisations, hostels, Job Centre Plus, schools, colleges and other external agencies as necessary.
2. Deliver the team programme face-to-face.
3. Set team and students programme objectives, to meet both team and individual needs and deliver the expected learning outcomes.
4. Liaise with community organisations and agencies to plan, prepare and supervise appropriate team projects and individual placements for students.
5. Work with the Programme Co-ordinator to plan and deliver a quality assured team programme which includes all the required elements.
6. Provide leadership and guidance to the team, taking responsibility for their health, safety and welfare including appropriate disciplinary procedure, medical protocols and risk assessments.
7. Work with other Team Leaders and the Co-ordinator to plan and effect a strategic response to the needs of this cohort of students.
8. Conduct regular meetings for evaluation, review and assessment with the whole team on an individual basis.
9. Keep appropriate records of the team’s and each individual’s performance and progress by utilising the College’s internal quality systems e.g. registers.
10. Submit regular reports on the Team to the line manager and make significant input to staff team discussions, planning, review and evaluation and the curriculum area SAR.
11. Organise progression appointments for each team prior to the end of each programme.
12. Organise and lead 3 residential weeks with the Team during the academic year.
13. Other such duties as are necessary for the maintenance and development of the Team Programme.

In order to support during busy exam periods, you may be asked to undertake exam invigilator duties. The College will provide training.

You will be responsible for leading aspects of the Pastoral care of approximately 241 students in one of the school’s year groups within this comprehensive school situated at the heart of its community in Malvern. This role involves supporting students, setting expectations for behaviour, attendance and appearance, identifying barriers of learning and provide them with strategies and to celebrate students’ achievements. You will also be working within the school’s safeguarding team, including deputising for the Designated Safeguarding Lead.

Responsibilities:

• Enthusiasm & commitment to delivering high quality childcare.

• A Key Person, building relationships & working in partnership with parents/carers and other family members.
• For Room Leader role; ability to lead, monitor & support a team of staff to ensure the highest quality of care at all times and liaise with the management team where needed.

Requirements:

• Minimum Level 3 full & relevant Early Years childcare qualification.
• Experience working in a children’s day nursery.
• For Room Leader roles, experience in a team leader role is required.

We are seeking an experienced Butchery Manager to lead our butchery department at our Droitwich location. This role offers an exciting opportunity to be part of a dynamic team, working closely with both the food hall and kitchen teams to deliver a high-quality product offering and exceptional customer service.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage the butchery team, ensuring high standards of customer service and effective task delegation
• Work hands-on, preparing and cutting meat and poultry to ensure high-quality products
• Collaborate with the kitchen team to maximise production of 'ready to eat' products
• Monitor sales and margins, taking necessary action to meet performance targets
• Maximise merchandising, production, and supply opportunities within the Food Hall and Restaurants
• Create innovative, seasonally changing displays to inspire customers
• Ensure self-serve displays in chillers are well-organised, attractive, and easy to shop
• Stay on top of food trends and work collaboratively with the kitchen and management teams
• Share product knowledge proactively with both the team and customers

Candidate Requirements:

• Previous experience in butchery is essential
• Relevant qualifications, such as Butchery Level 2, are preferred, and candidates must be trained or willing to train to at least Food Hygiene Level 3
• Retail sales experience with a passion for delivering excellent customer service
• Visual merchandising experience and a creative flair for creating eye-catching displays
• Proven experience leading and managing a team, with the ability to motivate and support staff
• High attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high-quality standards Strong IT and organisational skills
• This is a hands-on role, where your leadership and butchery expertise will be vital to ensuring the smooth running of the department and an exceptional shopping experience for our customers

Working Hours:

39.5 hours per week on a 2-week rota, Week 1: 4 weekdays and one weekday plus weekend off, Week 2: 6 days, including both weekend days. Shifts include early mornings and evenings, with start and finish times varying depending on store hours.
