This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced O&G Registrar ST5-7 level to develop a special interest in Fetal Medicine. The post is based at Queen Elizabeth Hospital site and is a 6 month Fixed term post (with a possibility of extension). The post is aimed at candidates who are interested in pursuing a career in Fetal-Maternal Medicine or High risk pregnancy. Previous Fetal Medicine and scanning experience is desirable, as there will be expectation to deliver Fetal medicine scan and Pre-Term clinic lists, with both direct and indirect Specialist Consultant supervision and support. Senior Clinical Fellow in Emergency Medicine We are advertising Senior Clinical Fellow posts, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to undertake our rotational programme at Lewisham & Greenwich NHS Trust, based in the Emergency Department at Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Woolwich.The post is intended to provide the clinician with the support and training required to successfully complete all aspects of the process. Our current trainees are doing secondments in ITU, Acute Medicine and Paediatrics to gain relevant educational and competency needs. The programme is for four years to be eligible for specialist registration subject to completion of FRCEM. We are exploring the possibility to have a secondment at our local major trauma centre. The remaining nine months of the year will be working in our adult emergency department. Our department is well renowned for its training and support. We operate weekly teaching sessions incorporating a monthly journal club, simulation MDT training (with in-situ component), FRCEM mock OSCE and SAQ practice by our FRCEM examiners and supervised US training.The Consultant body contains current FRCEM examiners, ATLSAPLS & ALS instructors and all of whom are level 1 and some Level 2 US trained. The evidence speaks for itself; we have a proven track record of our long term middle grades successfully becoming consultants via the process with the full support of the department, they would be happy to talk to you about this informally. There will be a specifically designed training and teaching package for all successful applicants and there will be a designated Consultant supervisor for the duration of the rotation.From a clinical perspective these posts will participate in the 24 hour Emergency Department rota. About the Job Role

The post holder will be the Named Nurse for Looked After Children and Young People (LAC). By developing a child and young persons centered approach, the role will focus on multiagency working to help improve the outcomes and life chances of looked after children and young people.

The post holder will identify, assess, plan and evaluate the health needs of children and young people looked after. Working in collaboration with Children’s Social Care, Education, Health agencies, carers, keyworkers, young people and voluntary agencies, with particular reference to the statutory delivery of health assessment requirements. Support lead clinical practitioners to provide high quality, high intensity, and specialist service intervention to young people in the right place at the right time; promoting choice, the young persons/significant others voice and hopefulness to ensure a recovery orientated approach. This could take place in a variety of settings across the boroughs of Bexley, Bromley, and Greenwich. Seek advice and guidance as required. To contribute to service delivery where equality, diversity and inclusion underpins care; ensuring young people and their families cultural, religious, and spiritual needs are considered. Treat service users sympathetically and with compassion, with initiative, diplomacy, and tact. The postholder will likely be required to deal with young people and their families who may be in distress. Discuss onward clinical care options with lead clinical practitioners and organising follow up as required. To be responsible for organising and prioritising own workload in the day to day allocation of work. Liaise with other mental health staff and multidisciplinary teams, for example Tri-borough CAMHS Care Co-ordinators, CAMHS Crisis practitioners, SLP bed management and have an understanding of the local resources available to children and young people to access in Crisis or offer long term support. Signposting service users to relevant community-based services for example, voluntary services. Opening RiO referrals and documenting contacts and activity appropriately in line with operational policy, if required. Maintain the need for confidentiality of service users and professional information. Ensure that collection of required data to inform key clinical performance indicators and participate in service audit and evaluation within the team. To ensure the safe maintenance and sharing of accurate oral and written communication, clinical records, and electronic records to a high standard, and that they are stored and accessed appropriately at all times of service users and their significant others. The Trust has recently restructured in to a new Divisional structure. The Division for Women, Children and Sexual Health currently has seven Clinical Directorates. The merger of Lewisham Healthcare NHS Trust and Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Woolwich took place in 2013. Lewisham Community Health Services merged with University Hospital Lewisham in April 2010. The Women, Children and Sexual Health s Division is headed by a triumvirate of Divisional Medical Director, Divisonal Director of Nursing/Midwifery and Divisional Director of Operations. Each directorate is led by a Clinical Director, often supported by senior nursing/midwifery leads and a Service Manager.
