Main duties of the job
• Abide by the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) standards of conduct, ethics and performance as well as standards for registered pharmacies, observing and applying all professional, ethical and legal obligations.
• Ensure that the Outpatient Pharmacy service is patient focused, responsive and appropriate and that the professional image of the department is upheld at all times.
• Work in the Outpatient pharmacy by undertaking responsibilities required as per JD including ensuring that medicines are dispensed in a legal, efficient and accurate way and that appropriate clinical and other checks have been carried out.
• Ensure patients are given appropriate counselling and information, regarding their medicines. To counsel patients on the use of their medicines if necessary.
• Provide professional leadership with the support of the Principal Pharmacist Outpatients in the pharmacy, ensuring all pharmacy practice, including their own, is within the boundaries described within the latest version of the Medicines, Ethics and Practice issued by the Royal Pharmaceutical Society and General Pharmaceutical Council.
• Ensuring individual patient needs are met and appropriate actions are taken to resolve issues and complaints as they arise.
• Participate in the clinical pharmacy service as appropriate includingparticipation in the late duty, seven day, bank holiday and on-call rotas.

The StaffBank for Epsom and St Helier NHS Trust are seeking enthusiastic senior hand therapist to join our pool of Staff Bank workers, there are many full time roles available but as they are ever-changing - the exact roles available will be provided once your Hiring & Recruitment is complete. We can give you an idea of the type of roles available at the time of contact, but we cannot guarantee set roles as your hiring time may vary. Depending on previous relevant experience & previous NHS experience, higher banding/rates can be discussed.

1. To carry and prioritise own patient caseload and other ongoing tasks, allocating appropriate work to technical instructors and students.

2. To perform specialist therapy assessment of patients with diverse and complex presentations, using advanced clinical reasoning skills to analyse, interpret and make judgements on complex facts or situations, to provide specialised packages of care, treatment and advice to patients, based on sound knowledge of evidence based practice and the range of treatment options and/or adaptive techniques and/or equipment provision, and/or care services.

3. To attend consultant outpatients clinics and to assess and treat patients as necessary.

4. To incorporate the appropriate standard assessment tools with patients, and apply additional relevant skills in specialised splint making.

5. To communicate sensitively and reassuringly complex condition and functional risk/limitation related information to patients/carers, to gain consent to and co-operation in assessment and treatment, and in giving specialist advice to patients/carers regarding their options for ongoing care needs. Being aware at all times of the sensitive nature of some recommendations, and the potential for patients/carers to have special communication needs resulting in barriers to understanding.

6. Attend multi-disciplinary meetings as the hand therapist representative for individual patients, to inform complex discussions, gain a full range of information prior to planning patient centred goals, analyse options for meeting goals and participate in the clinical decision making process and development of comprehensive MDT plans for discharge.

To evaluate patient progress, reassess and alter treatment programmes as required

Prepare budget costs for client consideration and draw up tender documentation. Projects manage site work from commencement to completion and monitor site work against specification requirements. Carry out inspections of existing installations and submit condition reports and agree contractor final accounts.
What you'll need to succeedTo succeed, your new company is looking for someone who has a degree or masters in engineering, is a member of the chartered institute of building services (or similar), chartered engineer status, full driving licence and excellent communication skills, problem-solving and a good decision marker.
