• You will manage the administrative activities of the NROTC Programs.
• You will conduct administrative orientation briefs for new students. Maintains all student records, files, and collects data required in administering all aspects of the NROTC program.
• You will compose a variety of Naval and business letters, memoranda, directives, statistical and narrative reports, endorsement, messages and forms, utilizing a computer, as appropriate.
• You will obtain, evaluate, and process all related medical program requirements and medical examinations.

Major Duties:

The primary purpose of the position is to provide administrative information and assistance to staff, supervisors and managers of the Outer Banks Group. The incumbent will provide customer service and support for the practical and technical aspects of office administration. This includes human resources, budget, acquisition, and property management, and other administrative support services. This position in large part supports work remaining in the Parks after the implementation of the Serving Human Resources Office (SHRO). This series includes performing clerical assistance or technical work that requires knowledge of the procedures and techniques involved in carrying out the work of an organization and involves application of procedures and practices within the framework of established guidelines.

AREA INFORMATION:

The Outer Banks are comprised by several towns including Manteo, Nags Head, Kill Devil Hills, Kitty Hawk, Buxton, and Ocracoke. The area is a beach destination. The beaches, as well as Albemarle and Pamlico sounds, provide exceptional recreational opportunities, such as fishing, surfing, boating, and many other watersports. There are several highly rated elementary, middle, and high schools and numerous extracurricular activities available for children. These towns all have homes for sale or rent and are within reasonable driving distance. • Ensure proper employment documentation is filed and maintained in each personnel folder such as: Educator certifications/recertification, SF50s, and transcripts.
• Prepare a variety of documents and requests for supplies from oral instructions, hand-written rough drafts, or voice recordings.
• Prepare, track, document, and/or file personnel or purchase requests.

• Initiate, implements, plans, and recommends progressive treatment plan, with consideration of patient's conditions.
• Complete required data collection for workload management and analysis and research studies as directed.
• Use problem-solving skills to make recommendations for the use of various occupational therapy modalities.
• Ensure designated treatment plan maximizes results in promotion of healing and pain relief.
• Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to make recommendations for the patients rehabilitation and reintegration needs.

• Composes routine correspondence to include administrative matters, letters of acknowledgment, general office policies, acceptance of invitations, and cancellation of conferences.
• Uses word processing and other types of software to process and produce a wide range of documents, some of which require complex formats, in support of the office automation functions.
• Manages the Branch Chief's and subordinate Supervisors' calendars and coordinates the calendars with Executive Office requirements, senior leader calendars, and other mission events.
• Provides support for the development and monitoring of the Branch training plan.
• Prepares Purchase Request and Commitment (PR and C) forms for Branch training requests .

• Perform comprehensive and problem focused histories and physical examinations for assigned patients.
• Examine, diagnose, and treat walk-in and clinic appointment patients with Neurologic disorders.
• Provide telephone consultation with primary care providers regarding management of Neurological conditions for patients.
• Document on outpatient and inpatient records histories, physical exams, laboratory and x-ray data, assessments, diagnostic and therapeutic plans, patient progress, consultations, and procedure reports within the clinic.

The duties of the Nursing Assistant in the Nursing Service include, but are not limited to:

• Assists patients/residents with activities of daily living, i.e., bathing, shaving, feeding, oral hygiene, ambulation, dressing, etc. Assists lower graded Nursing Assistants in the completion of these duties as well.
• Assists Registered Nurses, therapists and others in the rehabilitation and or providing care for patients/residents. Assures the residents are prepared to engage in therapy as much as possible.
• Ability to use clean and aseptic technique to perform various non-medicine treatments, i.e., wound cleansing, applying dressings, performing catheter care, applying external catheters, performing perianal care and monitoring for early signs of breakdown - notifies Registered Nurses, etc.
• Cares for patient/resident and prevents complications of limited mobility or immobilization by turning, maintaining proper body alignment, range of motion exercises, assists with deep breathing and cough.
• Encourages and provides adequate nutrition and hydration within ordered diet. Assists with observation and monitoring of enteral feeding and/or gastro tube and notifies Registered Nurses of concerns or issues. Accurately monitors intake and output and daily weights as ordered.
• Monitors intravenous fluids by informing the nurse of the need to add fluids, any alarm and any patient/resident concerns. Monitors for pain, leakage, swelling or redness at site and notifies nurse immediately.
• Is a leader in activities that promote safety for the veteran and others in the work area, including, but not limited to, performing monitoring of the patient safety monitoring system after completion of orientation and completion of competency demonstration. Assists with safety monitors such as hand hygiene, safety support or others.
• Performs other duties as assigned for the position. Precepts and trains new and lower graded staff in functions of Nursing Assistants.
• Provides patient care in a timely manner, recognizing and responding to physical, psychological, spiritual, and emotional needs of patients.
• Establish a positive rapport with family/caregiver, internal and community-based services and disciplines involved in providing care to the patient.
• Makes caring for the veteran his/her priority while in the work setting and demonstrates customer service principles in all aspects of work.
