Due to the ongoing success and expansion of my client's business, they have an excellent opportunity for an Assistant with some survey experience or a Consultant with more developed project management experience to progress their career in ecological consultancy, by joining the industry-leading team of specialists and working on an exciting range of challenging and interesting projects. The purpose of the role is to undertake terrestrial ecology site work and support in the preparation and writing of reports via data processing, analysis, and interpretation.
Your new role
You will be offered the chance to work on a variety of projects, many employees work on projects that have been of personal interest to them. Project work is across the UK and across sectors including housing, retail, employment and renewable energy, amongst others.
You'll Be:
* Undertake ecological surveys for a variety of protected species and habitats, including bats, reptiles and badgers
* Assist with report writing for Ecological Impact Assessments (EcIA) including completing desk studies and collating and analysing survey data
* Professional liaison with clients and colleagues to organise surveys.
* Undertaking Ecological Clerk of Works (ECoW) roles
* Opportunities to assist with Nutrient Balance Assessments, Habitats Regulations Assessments, Biodiversioty Net-Gain Assessments.
What you'll need to succeed
- A relevant degree and/or postgraduate qualification, with a strong academic record.
- Some relevant survey experience in a consultancy setting, and ideally exposure to report writing.
- A sound background in or enthusiasm for natural history and basic familiarity with UK flora and fauna.
- A broad understanding of UK wildlife legislation.
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment, with effective teamwork and excellent communication skills.
- Ability to travel across the UK, with some requirement for over-night stays.
- A full UK driving licence.
