• Monitor company and country policies and practices in U.S. trade partner countries for compliance with national and international labor standards and labor provisions of U.S. trade agreements.
• Formulate analyses of deficiencies or compliance with international labor standards and labor provisions of U.S. trade agreements.
• Engage with labor, private sector, and government counterparts in trade partner countries to obtain information about labor-related policies and practices.
• Analyzes and evaluates complaints or allegations that labor rights commitments have been violated under relevant trade agreements, including developing or executing plans to investigate these complaints.
• Producing and executing effective strategies and/or action plans to address labor issues at the country, regional or sectoral levels, including for inter-agency or multilateral policy processes.
• Coordinates with relevant U.S. and partner government agencies to get work done.
• Produces deliverables in situations with quickly approaching deadlines while also handling other multiple fast-paced requests on complex issues related to labor and trade.

Office Clerk 

As an Office Clerk students will assist staff with planning and organizing work and communicating effectively, orally and in writing.

Duties may include drafting documents, presentations, research, and routine procedural processing, maintaining records, assisting with meeting facilitation and other administrative tasks. In this role students may also assist the office they are supporting by answering phones and greeting guests, employees and staff warmly. 

Students in the role may also address internal and external inquiries about the organization, help plan and organize office activities, perform data entry using Microsoft office applications such as Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook.

This position is responsible for conducting analyses of the geopolitical risk factors that impact legitimate flows of people and goods in relation to U.S. trade and security goals in the respective regions, and for developing and managing related technical assistant and capacity building programs. This position will serve as a CBP subject matter expert and liaison with the U.S. inter-agency for the assigned regions and an agency representative on policy discussions impacting the CBP mission and regional objectives.

This position starts at a salary of $139,395.00 (GS-14, Step 1) to $181,216.00 (GS-14, Step 10).

Typical duties include:

• Utilizing your understanding of diplomatic, political, military, economic and significant developments within an assigned region, preparing reports and briefings, and responding to requests for information.
• Analyzing the geopolitical risk factors that impact legitimate flows of people and goods in relation to U. S. trade and security goals in the area(s) of responsibility.
• Developing, coordinating, and implementing the INA strategic communications and outreach activities within an assigned region.
• Serving as an agency representative in policy discussions impacting CBP's mission and regional objectives, to include participating in relevant meetings and conferences.
• Assisting in conducting oral and written briefings for the INA Assistant Commissioner (AC), Deputy AC and other CBP leaders on a variety of issues related to the assigned regions.

The candidate selected for this position will:

1. Assist in performing audits of small defined-pension plans which have no obvious complicating features.

2. Enter data extracted from audit reports to prepare or help construct tables and charts; or prepare spreadsheets or other workpapers in support of the audit staff or to facilitate the presentation of audit findings in connection with a variety of audits/reviews carried out on an ongoing basis.

You will:

• Advise and support EPA's senior leaders on international program and policy development that involves coordination with international organizations; develop incisive analyses and innovative policy options concerning the office's international programs.

As an International Relations Specialist, you will:

• Conduct in-depth analyses for comprehensive and long-term energy policy planning and strategy development, investigating international energy policy, market trends, investment and trade issues and their impact on U.S. national security, foreign policy, and trade policy objectives in assigned non-U.S. geographical regions within the Americas.
• Serve as the DOE representative in meetings with foreign officials, both here and abroad, and in interagency meetings related to the assigned area of responsibility.
• Draft comprehensive briefings, speeches, and testimony given by the Secretary, Deputy Secretary, the Under Secretary, Assistant Secretary, and other senior DOE officials.
