• Benefit advisor to Business Office Leadership and support the management information components of all health eligibility related programs.
• As a Health Benefits Advisor, the incumbent is responsible for applying an extensive body of rules and regulations relative to Veteran's eligibility for VA healthcare benefits, assisting families with a Veteran's death, burial and explanation of death benefits.

The PACT Physician (MD/DO) position is responsible for direct supervision of outpatient care at assigned location. The PACT Physician (MD/DO) Primary Care position reports to the regional section chief who oversees his/her assigned location.

Duties:
- Functions as the Physician Team leader of their Patient Aligned Care Team (PACT), Ambulatory Care Services, Community Based Outpatient Clinic (CBOC) setting at (MTVAHCS). May perform additional duties (temporary or permanent) as a float provider (face-to-face or via telehealth) as those duties are assigned.
- Responsible for providing medical care in an outpatient setting following PACT principles. Will routinely provide medical care using Face-to-Face (F2F), VVC, and/or Telephone appointments. When performing duties as a float provider (F2F or telehealth) for remote patients, will provide care to outreach clinics as needed. Float provider duties (temporary or permanent) may require travel to the supported CBOC(s) periodically to cover a provider vacancy.
- Assures that Veterans receive compassionate, efficient and safe patient care in their respective care line.
- Assures that clinical care provided meets all timelines and required documentation as required by VA. Providers must review alerts daily and have no more than 200 alerts at any given time. They must encounter their notes within 72 hours. Encounter errors must be completed within 7 days.

Duties
The Supervisory Healthcare Engineer supports and advances patient care by applying engineering and managerial skills to healthcare engineering. They provide overarching professional services focusing on engineering and/or architecture involved in all aspects of the healthcare delivery processes and systems, ensuring the appropriate infrastructure, facilities, and equipment are available for the medical mission. Healthcare Engineers are a specialized subset of more broadly defined professional engineering or architect occupations with general or specialty area degrees (e.g., general engineering, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, civil engineering, architecture, architectural engineering, etc.).

Healthcare Engineers collaborate with biomedical engineers to provide seamless integration of medical technology into the patient care environment. They specify the spatial layouts, infrastructure, and environmental requirements to enable medical equipment integration into the healthcare facility. Importantly, Healthcare Engineers must understand functional relationships between clinicians, patients, and supplies, and how those elements interact in a medical space. Using healthcare engineering knowledge, they plan and design custom site preparation requirements for medical equipment, including installation.

At this level, Supervisory Healthcare Engineers are assigned at the facility level, supervising professional engineers and other support positions at GS-13 equivalent and below. Supervisory Healthcare Engineers provide complex professional engineering advice to peers, subordinates and/or non-professional administrators/managers. Supervisory Healthcare Engineers review subordinates' activity plans, specifications, and cost estimates for technical adequacy and feasibility. They oversee maintenance standards for advanced equipment or systems technology.

The Healthcare Engineer performs project planning and manages construction for Station Level Projects, including architectural, electrical, life safety, mechanical, civil, and structural. They supervise a large staff of engineers, engineering techs, and specialty shops to accomplish the construction work and maintenance of the organization, in accordance with VA policies and procedures, VA Design Guides, VA Design Manuals, VA Master Specifications, and related industry codes and standards. This Practical Nurse position is located in the Nursing Service (Mental Health) at the Bedford VA Healthcare Medical Center, in Bedford, Massachusetts. • Knowledgeable of technical methods, techniques, procedures, and preparation; deploys aseptic technique and follows guidelines used in performing venipuncture or blood collection on all patients according to doctor's orders; interprets orders proficiently on inpatients and outpatients. Identifies acceptable venipuncture sites (for bleeding time); deploys technical methods, techniques, procedures, and preparation.
• Ability to draw the appropriate number of tubes and type of tubes; ensuring the tubes meet quality, acceptability, integrity and volume standards required for optimum clinical sampling; with awareness of collections requiring special handling.
• Must assure venipuncture site has ceased bleeding and also bandages the site before leaving the patient.

The Clinical Pharmacy Specialist (CPS) has prescribing privileges as outlined in the individual's Scope of Practice. The Domiciliary (DOM) CPS delivers evidenced-based comprehensive medication management (CMM) through direct patient care and as part of the interdisciplinary team. This includes, but is not limited to, the following: designing, implementing, assessing, monitoring and documenting therapeutic plans utilizing the most effective, least toxic and most economical medication treatments; helping achieve positive patient centric outcomes through direct and indirect interactions with patients, providers, and interdisciplinary teams in assigned areas; performing physical assessments; implementing risk mitigation strategies and ordering laboratory and other tests to help determine efficacy and toxicity of medication therapy.

The CPS has full time responsibility for providing expert pharmacotherapy services for patients and professional staff to optimize patient response and resource utilization. Within the basic framework the CPS assumes the following duties and responsibilities:

• Be directly involved in the design, implementation, and monitoring of therapeutic drug plans to achieve definite outcomes through direct interactions with patients and providers in assigned areas.
• Be actively involved in reviewing patient medication regimens for clinical effectiveness, drug selection, dosing, contraindications, side effects, potential drug interactions, and therapeutic outcomes as required. Communicates findings with prescribers and provides appropriate alternatives to current treatment plans as needed.
• Be able to apply knowledge of normal laboratory values in the evaluation of patient care and recognizes significant abnormalities.
• Has expertise in the principles of clinical pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics and is knowledgeable and able to make dose adjustment recommendations based on objective laboratory findings.
• Reviews and implements pharmacotherapy and treatment guidelines, during direct patient care or via recommendations to other providers.
• Documents clinical interventions in CPRS in a timely and professional manner as appropriate.
• Collaborates with clinical staff to provide pharmaceutical care to selected patients as outlined by best evidence, VHA and MEDVAMC clinical practice guidelines. Clinical activities include histories, evaluations, outlining and executing, and monitoring pharmacotherapeutic treatment plans utilizing the most effective, least toxic, and most economical medication treatments.
• Completes medication reconciliation including updating the medication profile to reflect an accurate, active list of VA and non-VA medications. This may include adding non-VA medications or discontinuing duplicate medications or those the patient is not taking.
• Performs drug use evaluations on behalf of national, VISN and local medical center initiatives as needed.
• Provides Pass medication review and counseling in accordance with the VHA Handbook 11620 and local facility SMM policy.
• Manages out-of-stock situations by substituting alternate dosage strengths and instructions of the same medication equal to the prescribed dose and schedule as approved by the Pharmacy and Therapeutic Committee, including patient education as necessary.
• Implementing VA medical facility policies including therapeutic interchanges and automatic substitutions.
• Reviews and evaluates requests for non-formulary and restricted drugs for appropriateness and compliance with established criteria where applicable.

The Program Support Assistant (PSA) for Geriatrics and Extended Care (GEC) provides direct administrative support primarily to the Chief of GEC and the GEC Programs with back up responsibilities for the Home Base Primary Care (HBPC) Medical Support Assistant (MSA) and GEC Administration Officer.

Duties include, but are not limited to:

• Tracks, monitors and produces performance measures reports, consult and encounter reports, and program budget reports;
• Involved in planning, coordinating, and ensuring completion of office support functions such as data management, procurement of administrative supplies and equipment, printing, reproduction, space management, records management, mail service and equipment maintenance;
• Preparation of memorandums, coordinating committee meetings producing agendas and meeting minutes, pull report data, prepare policy revisions, maintain files, and function as an effective liaison with all administrative and clinical services throughout the medical center and throughout the community;
• Responsible for assisting program managers with accessing, collecting, compiling and tracking consults, program data and costs, statistical information in support of GEC program operations and to access status or outcomes in relation to established performance measures, goals and objectives;
• Receives and processes documents; ensures reports are completed in accordance with established procedures; uses software applications to draw information from a wide variety of sources in order to prepare reports;
• Processes incoming and outgoing materials such as correspondence, VA and government forms (e.g. VA 1010EC forms), reports, memorandums, and other forms of written communication;
• Maintains mail and correspondence filing system;
• Recording secretary for team meetings, and oversight committee meetings with responsibility for maintenance and distribution of minutes;
• And other duties as assigned.

The incumbent serves as a Records and Information Management Specialist - Facility Records Officer and will ensure that institutional federal records of vital, historical, fiscal, and legal value are identified and preserved in accordance with federal laws, regulation, directives, and policies. They are the senior technical advisor responsible for formulating policy, performing strategic analysis, and planning, conducting program outreach, coordinating, and conducting training, developing metrics, and ensuring federally mandated information governance and accountability measures are in place.

Duties include, but may not be limited to the following:

• Ensuring compliance with record keeping requirements for VHA records.
• Independently develops and utilizes records management metrics, dashboards, audits, surveys, and other reports to identify potential issues related to the health care system records management program.
• Responsible for the maintenance of the master records inventory and file plan for the Health Care System.
• Conducts a program of regular internal records management reviews and audits records maintained by service lines to assist offices within the organization in maintaining appropriate records management procedures.
• Formulates and implements professional organizer techniques and strategies to streamline file system organizations across a wide range of storage environments.
• Provides ongoing general and/or program specific training to staff related to records management, ensuring all records liaisons are trained on the creation, maintenance, use, storage, and disposition of the records created within their area of responsibility.
• Educates end-users on how to utilize inventory file plan organizations using variety of inventory and file plan systems and meta data repositories.
• Collaborates with Office of General Counsel upon receipt of a litigation hold, and advises personnel in litigation hold procedures, ensuring litigation related records are safeguarded and available.
• Advises health care system personnel on the maintenance and/or disposition of documents not included in an approved Systems of Records and acts as a point of contact for management of unscheduled records.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
