Are you a proactive and dedicated professional looking to make a real impact in facilities management? Join our University Facilities Team at Wellington Square as a Senior Facilities Support Supervisor! In this role, you'll ensure our services run smoothly and efficiently, creating a safe and welcoming environment for students, staff, and visitors.
The Team is currently reorganising its strategy to elevate customer service to new heights. By joining us, you'll become part of a tightly-knit, efficient, and visionary team.
Key Responsibilities:
Supervision: Lead and support our Facilities Support Assistants (FSAs), manage duty rotas, and ensure high safety standards. Mentor and coach team members, providing regular feedback and performance evaluations to foster professional growth.
Security & Safety: Implement and monitor compliance with University policies and health and safety regulations to ensure a safe and legal working environment. Assist in maintaining security, act as Fire Marshal, and provide emergency out-of-hours cover.
Senior Meeting Set-Up: Oversee the preparation and layout for meetings, ensuring everything runs seamlessly.
Maintenance: Keep our facilities clean and safe, perform minor repairs, and manage maintenance tasks. The post-holder will be actively involved in routine maintenance tasks to support the FSAs.
Electrical Duties: Conduct Portable Appliance Testing (candidate will be trained) and replace lighting tubes.
General Duties: Work closely with the Deputy Senior FM to assist with Projects, ensuring they are completed on time and meet the expectations of our customers. Develop and implement strategic plans to achieve departmental goals, such as; resource allocation. Cover for holidays and sickness.

What We’re Looking For: Essential
• Strong interpersonal, organizational, line management and practical skills.
• Knowledge of current health and safety legislation and issues
• Competency in the construction and review of working risk assessments
• Proficiency in IT, particularly email and Computer-Aided Facilities Management Systems (CAFM)
• Excellent customer service experience
• Attention to detail, confidentiality, and practical DIY skills.
Desirable:
• NEBOSH/IOSH certification.
• ROSPA electrical awareness and IWFM membership.
• First Aid qualification.
• Project Management skills and ability to deliver to target and deadlines
