You will serve as a PROGRAM SPECIALIST (CULTURE AND CLIMATE) and be responsible for providing expertise and guidance on culture and climate management specifically targeted toward cadets, civilians, military officers, enlisted personnel, faculty, and staff.
Being a Coast Guard civilian makes you a valuable member of the Coast Guard team. Typical work assignments include:
- Assisting the Chief Culture and Climate Officer in planning, monitoring, and implementing the Coast Guard Academy's strategic vision for building an equitable and inclusive environment.
- Integrating data from a variety of culture and climate reports including, the data scorecard, outcomes output data tool assessment report, Defense Equal Opportunity Climate Survey, and other metrics to assist the Chief Culture and Climate Officer and other Senior Management officials in implementing the strategic Culture and Climate goals of the strategic plan.
- Developing and carrying out initiatives that will make the Academy a desirable place for individuals with various backgrounds and experiences to work and develop professionally and to feel a sense of belonging.
- Developing knowledge and understanding of the multicultural recruitment, retention, and outreach programs across all Academy.
- Preparing and delivering presentations and briefings on studies, analysis, evaluation results, in support of the overall culture and climate vision and strategy for the Academy.
- Teaching and training cadets on issues relating to culture and climate competencies.
