What skills and experience we're looking for

We have an exciting opportunity for an Office Administrator to join our fantastic office team in our School. The main duties will include front line office and telephone, administration of children’s attendance, correspondence and other general administrative support. There would also be a focus on the lead of administration for the school’s MIS systems (Arbor and School Grid).

The right candidate would have excellent communication skills, teamwork, a good sense of humour and the ability to use initiative when dealing with problems. Previous office admin experience is desirable, or work that would use a similar skillset, as are good IT, numeracy and literacy skills. A working knowledge of the Arbor system would be an advantage, but specialised training in school software packages will be provided where necessary.

There is a vacancy for a committed and dynamic Teacher in Charge of Science to teach the Science Curriculum at Francis Barber PRU in Wandsworth. You will be co-ordinating the GCSE Biology and KS3 Science delivery across both sites of the PRU to students. In addition you will also hold the role of keyworker to a small group of students and will be responsible for monitoring their progress and well-being.

This post is based across both sites of the Francis Barber PRU in central Wandsworth and in Tooting.

We are a very good PRU and have very high expectations for our pupils. There is a friendly and welcoming ethos and a variety of activities both during the day and after school. These, along with good keyworking, help young people make changes which enable them to be successful in their education.

Many of the pupils have faced challenges in mainstream schools. Some continue to be challenging in the PRU, but there is a strong staff team helping the young people to manage their behaviour within a supportive and caring school-like environment.

• Working with the class teacher and Inclusion Manager to support the implementation of person centred planning and targets for SEND children
• Liaising with appropriate external SEND or health professionals to ensure that advice on provision for individual SEND children is effectively implemented
• Supervising and support SEND children ensuring their safety and access to learning
• Establishing good relationships with all children, acting as a role model and being aware of and responding appropriately to individual needs
• Promoting the inclusion and acceptance of all children

• Hold QTS (or equivalent) and a relevant undergraduate degree
• Have successful teaching experience at secondary level (can be teaching practice), ideally including experience in multi-ethnic urban schools and of working in an 11-18 school
• Understand the theory and practice of effective teaching and learning
• Understand the importance of high expectations and equality of access for all students, and of being a tutor
• Have knowledge of National Curriculum requirements at KS3 and KS4, and of writing lesson plans, developing resources and assessing students' work
• Be able to work as part of a team and to develop and maintain positive relationships with all staff
• Have a good level of ICT skills, ideally including innovative use of interactive white boards
• Be able to create a motivating and safe learning environment for all students

• Have excellent time management skills
• Be able to motivate students and raise their aspirations through a range of strategies

We are looking for an enthusiastic member of support staff who is committed to supporting young people and the school as a Child Protection Officer within the Child Protection Team, within vibrant, multi-cultural all through-school.

The successful candidate must be fully conversant with the statutory requirements and Safeguarding procedures relevant to the needs of pupils and to be an advocate for pupils, supporting and promoting their welfare.
