What skills and experience we're looking for

The Headteacher and governors of Hallfield Primary School are seeking to appoint a Teaching Assistant for Autistic Resourced Provision (3-5 year olds).

This person will play a key role in supporting the teaching and learning needs of our Autism specialist provision (8 – 16 nursery & Reception children with Autism or on a pathway to receiving a diagnosis of Autism).

A professional social media check is required to reduce risks to reputation, confidentiality breach and data security. This role is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and the amendments to the Exceptions Order 1975, 2013 and 2020, as the work involves with children who are regarded by the Act as a vulnerable group. • Be an outstanding classroom practitioner with the ability to inspire others
• Have a commitment to high standards
• Have a proven record of good academic results with students of all abilities
• Display innovation and an ability to inspire students with a range of needs
• Work collegiately to support the teaching of a broad and balanced curriculum
• Preferably have knowledge and experience of working with students with ASD
• Ensure the students are cared for in a happy, safe and stimulating environment

• Preferably have experience of teaching across KS2, KS3 and 4

• Provide critical analysis of the progress, intervention and achievement for all children
• Actively participate in and offer areas of staff CPD.

Qualified Teacher Status

Ability to build effective and strong relationships with children

Excellent communicator with children, parents/carers, staff and other outside agencies

Strong SEN experience

Experience of trauma-informed practice

Ability to plan and deliver successful transition packages

Leadership experience of managing an effective team

Maintain strong and effective records for pupils’ targets and progress information

Dynamically risk assess and manage situations as they arise

Think flexibly and creatively in order to meet the individual needs of the children in a range of situations
