About the Role
Base Location: Glasgow, Perth, London, Reading or Havant
Salary: £74,600 - £112,000 + car / car allowance + performance-related bonus + a range of benefits to support your finances, wellbeing and family.

As Learning Partner you'll be at the forefront of our strategic Learning and Talent (L&T) provision, leveraging your expertise to develop and coach senior leaders. Aligned to our energy businesses, you will act as the single point of contact for business units, identifying key learning needs and creating learning plans. By collaborating with HR Business Partners and Directors, you'll ensure that L&T initiatives align with business priorities and budgets.
Your role involves effective stakeholder engagement and delivering learning plans to cost and quality standards. Managing the L&T plan, realising benefits, and facilitating team effectiveness sessions will be key aspects of your responsibilities. Additionally, you'll set standards and foster a learning culture within the L&T team, ensuring our offerings remain current, relevant and competitive.
Leading a small team of Learning Managers and a Project Manager, you will work to meet business requirements and drive productivity, efficiency and growth through innovative learning solutions. In this role, you will:
- Identify strategic L&T requirements, complete training needs analysis, and define integrated learning plans ensuring compliance with regulations and internal policies. You will be part of discussions on succession planning and talent management, including supporting exec level succession plans.
- Manage internal and external training budgets, drive value and efficiency, oversee tender processes, sign off on final training products with subject matter experts, and implement actions to improve financial performance. Continuously improve and explore innovative learning methods.
- Plan and monitor training plans, provide briefs to the Design team, and collaborate with HR and L&T teams to ensure quality and effective delivery. Present monthly L&T performance reports.
- Build strong relationships with HR Directors and Business Partners, enhance team capability in L&T, motivate and challenge the L&T team, and promote a positive, innovative and efficient learning culture. Share accountability with L&T Leadership to maintain relevant offerings.
- Provide consultancy to develop fit-for-purpose learning solutions, ensure alignment with values, and model continual professional development. Engage with key stakeholders to identify training needs and benchmark against external standards.
What do I need?
To be considered for this role, we would love you to have:
- Significant experience in a senior management role in a similar environment. Expertise in creating integrated training plans for diverse and technical roles, applying effective training solutions, and managing projects.
- Extensive experience in learning and talent, proficient in analysing, designing, and delivering training. Experience in strategic training needs analysis with an understanding of the full training cycle and full range of blended delivery options. Ability to implement development tools like Insights and Hogan for senior leadership.
- An understanding of quality assurance frameworks. Continuous development of knowledge and commercial awareness. Up to date on learning and talent innovations, ensuring approaches remain current and effective.
- Experience of coaching and developing senior managers, effectively influencing senior management in commercial and training related decisions. Strong communication skills with the ability to deliver impactful presentations and manage relationships with key stakeholders.
- Exceptional planning and organisational skills, allowing you to meet challenging deadlines and balance business priorities. Excellent problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail, and the ability to deliver high-quality outcomes in all your projects.
