We are looking for a Land Consents Manager to join our busy team in our Thames Valley region!

Our Land Consents Managers are a pivotal resource for the successful delivery of our project portfolio in order to support a net carbon zero future across our electricity distribution network.

In this role you'll be in charge of securing, maintaining and managing strategic land and property rights for underground cables, overhead lines and ground mounted plant on both public and privately-owned land.

Your key responsibilities in this role will include:

- Devising land consents strategies to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget and sustainably as well as managing risk to future network security.

- Managing preparation, negotiation and successful acquisition of wayleaves, easements, land purchases, lease agreements and access permissions.

- Assessing, negotiating and successful settlement of compensation claims.

- Engaging with internal and external stakeholders to develop and foster positive working relationships.

- Working with and assisting wider Capital, Maintenance and Inspection teams.

What do I need?

- Excellent negotiation and influencing skills.

- Experience securing both voluntary and statutory consents for capital projects.

During high winds and storms, trees can contact our equipment and cause power cuts, and so we cut them down or trim them back to keep the lights on. As well as installing the latest technologies and carrying out regular maintenance, we have our in-house tree-cutting team to make sure that trees and vegetation are kept away from our overhead lines and equipment.

Being part of a cyclical tree cutting programme, you will work with a highly skilled team to manage trees & vegetation near our distribution network. What do I need?

To be considered for this role, we would love you to have:

- Previous experience in tree cutting, forestry or arboriculture; similar capacity experience is also considered.

- Relevant NPTC certificate units for the use of chainsaws, and a qualification or certificates including NPTC UA.

- Enthusiasm and drive with a flexible approach to work and an ability to adapt to changing business and project priorities; you may have to work away from home occasionally so this is key.

- Holding experience of working with power lines, and climbing would be highly advantageous.

Brand new role which will part of a new team who will be fundamental in engaging and building productive relationships across the SSE Group with IT key Suppliers within their sphere of responsibility. The successful candidate will be be responsible for shaping the relationships with these Suppliers.

Reporting to the Lead Supplier Relationship Manager , SRM shall be responsible for managing and developing productive relationships between IT and Key Suppliers in either Services, Software / SaaS or Telco / Hardware, identified through Supplier Segmentation in collaboration with IT and the wider IT Procurement & Commercial Team. Key Responsibilities

- Relationship Management. Implement, manage and develop productive relationships between IT, P&C and IT Key Suppliers. Support Supplier Segmentation in collaboration with IT to identify key suppliers.

- Advisory. Provide commercial and contractual advice and insights to Procurement and Commercial leadership and Directors of the SSE Group.

- Governance. Manage a portfolio of Suppliers either within a Services or Software/SaaS or Telco/Hardware category with a value of £50-100m per annum to support the delivery of Procurement & Commercial department KPIs and objectives in line with Procurement Manual, Commercial Manual and the IT Contract Management Governance Manual.

SSEN are looking to hire an LV/HV Electrical Lead Construction Fitter to be based in any location in our Southern region.

- Working in a team responsible for constructing electrical apparatus within substations on the electricity distribution network from 11kV up to 132kV.

- Safe delivery of construction projects in live electricity substation environments in line with operational safety rules and safety legislation. This will also include emergency response to fault scenarios.

- Installation of fixed relays onto existing relay panels. Installation and commissioning of CT Metering apparatus.

- Act as an ambassador for Scottish and Southern Electricity Networks when interacting with external and internal customers to deliver world class customer service and protect the SSE brand.

What do I need?

To be considered for this role, we would love you to have:

- Knowledge of the electricity distribution network and experience of working in live electricity substation environments from 11kV - 132kV.

- Previous experience will include working on DC battery systems, internal panel wiring modification, multicore cable terminating and glanding, wiring circuit breakers, CT's/VT's to marshalling kiosks and control panels, AC/DC wiring and replacing 33kV outdoor circuit breakers and isolators. The ability to read and interpret single line wiring diagrams and cable ferruling.

- A high regard for safety, especially on construction sites and CDM regulations with strong customer service skills.

- Previous electricity network operational authorisations would be extremely beneficial as would training and qualifications in scaffold, telehandler, furzeweld, working at height, confined space, asbestos, COSHH, Loler and SMSTS.

- A clean driving licence and a flexible approach to working hours and work location is a must because the role will involve extensive travel throughout our network area.

The Lead Angular and Node.js Developer plays a pivotal role in the development and maintenance of applications and infrastructure to facilitate speedy software development and deployment, whilst supporting the current team.

They will also help to identify and resolve complex incidents and problems while devising technical solutions that cater to the needs of the business.

Following the publication of the Connections Action Plan (CAP) by Ofgem in November 2023, we are entering a period of significant change in relation to the customer connections process across the industry. The Local Stores Analyst is a member of the Local Stores team, reporting to the Local Stores Team Manager. They are a key support function for the local stores in providing reports and managing the in-house replenishment process. The replenishment parameters are set analytically by this person alongside collaboration with each customer. Analysis of customer demand trends will result in recommendations to make adjustments minimising availability gaps whilst ensuring that stock holding at each site is optimal to support business needs. This person will also help manage the needs and queries of the customers daily.

You will visit the local depots for SSE and our contractors in Southern England and/or Scotland to audit stock management processes to ensure they are being followed and carry out investigations into stock discrepancies to discover root cause of error. You will feedback to the wider business on recommendations for any process improvements that can be rolled out in a scalable way to improve stock integrity across the base of Local Stores. This feedback will be based on sound analysis from business data and process evaluations from investigating issues at 'the coal face'.

This role is for a candidate with experience in analytical work and a good eye for detail. This will involve gaining a detailed knowledge of the Local Stores and an ability to accurately interpret customer requirements and plans. They will require the ability to communicate clearly in spoken and written form with stakeholders.

- Actively manage inventory optimisation using Min/Max planning to ensure target stock availability levels are met whilst driving down overall inventory levels.

- Ensure that non-conformities are addressed through effective root-cause analysis and appropriate corrective and preventive action.

- Analyse constrained stock at warehouse level, to maximise customer availability.

- Actively contribute to the improvement of inventory spread throughout multiple regions to ensure all customers are able to continue planned work without disruption.
