We are seeking an experienced trade qualified Welders/Metal Fabricators to join their dynamic team in Dandenong South VIC 3175 .
Position Details:
- 38 hours per week, full time position
- Overtime is generally available
- All applications will be handled in confidence
- Studying blueprints, drawings and specifications to determine job requirements
- Selecting, cleaning and preparing metal stock
- Cutting marked-out metal sections and shapes using hand tools, flame cutting torches and metal cutting machines
- Shaping and bending metal sections and pipes using hand and machine tools, and by heating and hammering
- Aligning parts to be joined using hand tools and measuring instruments
- Joining metal sections using various welding techniques, bolting and riveting
- Examining welds for width of bead, penetration and precision
Skills and Experience
To be eligible for this role, applicants must:
- Able to read drawings
- Minimum 3 years' experience
- Have knowledge in using MMAW, GMAW and FCAW welding processes
- Experience in welding structural steel and in vessel manufacture
- Have ability to work with a range of metal types and thicknesses
- Be competent in the reading of engineering drawings and have a good knowledge and understanding welding symbols
- Forklift license is an advantage
- Have a strong adherence OH&S and in keeping as safe workplace
- Self-motivated and able to work independently as required
Salary range is $70,000-$85,000pa commensurate with experience
