Facilities provides a wide range of non clinical support services to patients, staff and visitors. The services provided include Housekeeping, Linen Services Catering, Retail, Stores/Portering.

To develop and implement effective communication mechanisms throughout the Care unit. Develop effective multi-disciplinary team working across all disciplines and professions. Ensure that staff are trained and educated to a level which adequately prepares them for their role. Performance and Quality Management To be responsible for implementation of the Trusts quality priorities. To ensure quality indicators are met both those determined internally by the Trust and those set externally by the Department of Health, NHS England, Commissioners of the Service and Mental Health Act Commissioners. To be responsible for quality governance, effective governance of patient safety, clinical effectiveness and patient experience. To be responsible for CQC compliance, professional standards and exercising accountability. To strive to meet the standards set out by the Royal College of Psychiatrists Quality Network for Forensic Mental Health Services. To ensure a patient centred, safe, effective and efficient patient service is delivered by the Care unit within the resources available. To support the Clinical Director in developing effective audit systems and programmes which will parallel compliance with the Care Standards Act 2000 and meet the requirements of the relevant NSFs. Ensure all internal and external performance targets are effectively monitored and corrective actions are taken when necessary to ensure compliance.

The post holder will work as an accredited AAA Screening Technician, carrying out ultrasound techniques within NAAASP standard operating procedures. The post holder will work independently and make judgements according to experience and training. Advice is available when needed for more complex situations, but the post holder generally works on his or her own initiative without reference to the Line Manager. Communication Observe and care for patients under investigation, liaising with administrative staff, nurses and other medical staff as appropriate in the best interest of the patient and any escorts Deal with anxious patients and their relatives or carers with tact, persuasion, patience and discretion. Recognise where communication difficulties arise and overcome barriers to understanding Carry out other duties in accordance with the current NAAASP guidelines and project protocol including obtaining informed consent, putting patients at their ease, explaining the processes and answering queries Work alongside other screening staff and support the work of the screening programme Keep the programme manager informed of any difficulties and seek advice where necessary Planning and Organisation Organise and carry out ultrasound scans of the Abdominal Aorta in accordance with the current guidelines for sonographic scanning and programme protocols Ensure that scan results and images are dispatched as soon as possible from off-site screening clinics to the screening office in a safe and confidential way Prepare and distribute results to patients in clinic, giving further information and offering support Deal with patient enquiries as appropriate, taking the initiative to prioritise work and bring to the attention of other staff any patient whose condition warrants it Handle incidents and medical emergencies in a professional manner, supporting other screening staff where appropriate Patient Care Undertake ultrasound scanning on patients in accordance with NAAASP protocols and standard operating procedures. Policy and Service Development Work within agreed protocols and operating procedures Participate in service reviews and actively put forward suggestions for service improvement Observe the requirements of the risk assessment requirements whilst attending off-site clinic locations Ensure that all equipment is packed away correctly at the end of clinic and is stored in a safe and secure location Information and Analysis Analyse scan data to ensure the quality meets with agreed protocols Record clinical measurements and patient details as required Research and Audit It will be expected of the post holder to participate in the extraction of local clinical data for research purposes in line with the national AAA Screening Programme Clinical or Technical Manipulate and calibrate ultrasound equipment with a high degree of accuracy and precision Accurately manoeuvre equipment and patients for ultrasound scans Administration The post holder will be expected to assist with office administration functions where necessary and to assist in marketing activities, promoting the service to eligible men To actively participate in the development of local standard operating procedures Other Duties Attend meetings, training sessions and tutorials as required by the service The above duties and responsibilities are intended to represent current priorities and are not meant to be a conclusive list as the role will inevitably vary and develop over time. The assistant practitioner will work alongside colleagues to prepare and deliver group based interventions in a variety of settings, county wide to groups of people, newly diagnosed with dementia and their families. You will be confidant speaking to members of the public and be able to modify your communication style as required by the audience and situation. You will have an understanding of dementia and be able to provide care and support as required. You will act professionally at all times and demonstrate a positive image of the service. You will maintain accurate records and know your limitations and when to escalate risk and safeguarding concerns to the registered team members. You will support the team to engage with families on the waiting list for the service. You will be involved in all aspects of the service and team working as required. You will be supported by registered staff and full training will be given including monthly clinical supervision. The post holder will support various aspects of this busy service, with a commitment to an out of hours rota. The daytime role will be affiliated to one of our elective services. The postholder will attend clinics, theatre sessions and ward rounds as per allocation in a weekly firm timetable. There are ample opportunities for work based assessments from the supervising consultants. You will also be allocated a Clinical Supervisor. In addition, there is a weekly local General Surgery teaching programme which you would be expected to attend and contribute to. Although this is not a training post it should be possible for an enthusiastic doctor to map their experiences to many of the core curriculum programme competences as all aspects of the syllabus are relevant to this attachment. We encourage our doctors to involve themselves in audit and research. You would be expected to make yourself familiar with the processes of the audit cycle and to assess the role of audit in clinical governance and in improving patient care. Supervision for projects will be available, and support may also be available from hospital audit departments.

The postholder will become part of the psychology team serving all three inpatient units (covering general, PICU and eating disorders) and will be supported by senior colleagues including the Lead Clinical Psychologist. You will work with a varied caseload of young people Psychologists are encouraged to pursue a range of CPD to further develop their skills. As a team we meet regularly for CPD and psychology specific business meetings. recent psychology training opportunities have included, DDP and CFT. There is also provision for peer supervision and specialist supervision where required. Clinical supervision is highly valued and Band 8a psychologists will be offered monthly supervision from a clinical psychologist. If entering the role as a band 7 preceptor, clinical supervision will be offered fortnightly for a period of time until it would transition to monthly. Working on the units offers Psychologists the opportunity to work intensively with young people. The unit provides a holistic support package and young people benefit from accessing wider disciplines including occupational therapy, speech and language therapy, social work, psychiatry and nursing. You will hold a small caseload and work alongside a range of therapists including systemic, arts therapists and DBT. You will be key in shaping MDT care plans and developing and sharing formulations. In addition to 1:1 work you will be encouraged to consider and support team dynamics. For example, there will be opportunities to provide reflective practice groups, compassionate leadership and staff training. Psychology is a well-respected discipline within the units and together the MDT has worked to create a psychologically informed environment. This is a great place to be a psychologist. We work closely with psychologists across Nottinghamshire CAMHS and as such you would benefit from the integrated, friendly, and supportive group of over 15 Psychologists. These work in a variety of services including Community, Children Looked After services and other specialist services. There are good opportunities for joint projects, research and shadowing across all areas of CAMHS. There are good links with the DClinpsy courses at Trent, Sheffield and Leicester University. We are currently hosting Clinical trainees, Masters students and CAPs and would encourage the post holder to develop their supervision experience. There is a monthly CAMHS research group that you may join if interested, which facilitates the development of both internal research ideas as well as larger multi-site studies. This post is fixed term for 12 months covering maternity leave, starting at the beginning of March 2025. The post-holder will manage a caseload and deal with a wide range of health needs in a primary care setting, ensuring the highest standards of care for all registered and temporary patients. In accordance with the practice timetable, as agreed, the post-holder will make him/her-self available to undertake a variety of duties including surgery consultations, telephone consultations and queries, visiting patients at home, checking and signing repeat prescriptions and dealing with queries, paperwork and correspondence in a timely fashion Making professional, autonomous decisions in relation to presenting problems, whether self-referred or referred from other health care workers within the organisation Assessing the health care needs of patients with undifferentiated and undiagnosed problems Screening patients for disease risk factors and early signs of illness In consultation with patients and in line with current practice disease management protocols, developing care plans for health Providing counselling and health education Admitting or discharging patients to and from the caseload and referring to other care providers as appropriate Recording clear and contemporaneous consultation notes to agreed standards Collecting data for audit purposes Compiling and issuing computer-generated acute and repeat prescriptions (avoiding hand-written prescriptions whenever possible) Prescribing in accordance with the practice prescribing formulary (or generically) whenever this is clinically appropriate In general the post-holder will be expected to undertake all the normal duties and responsibilities associated with a GP working within primary care.
