We are looking to recruit passionate Relief Support Workers to join our dedicated team of Support Workers in Warminster and Devizes.

That's where the role of a Relief Support Worker comes in! It gives you the flexibility to choose the shifts you want to work, based on your availability and the needs of the service.
As a Relief Support Worker flexibility is key as you may be required to work a variety of different shifts. You should have the ability to work flexibly across weekdays, weekends and bank holidays and shifts will be spread across mornings, afternoons, evenings, sleep ins and waking nights. Your flexibility is therefore essential for us to be able to meet the needs of the people we support. You will receive an enhanced flat rate payment of £61.20 for any sleep in shifts carried out. The payment for sleep ins is non-contractual.
The role of a Relief Support Worker can be challenging at times, so it is essential to have a positive mind-set with a desire to improve the lives of those with a learning disability. You will need to be quick thinking and have a positive can-do attitude.
About our Service
We support people with learning disabilities living in Warminster service 24/7 supported living and Domiciliary and in Devizes in a 24/7 service. We support a gentleman in Devizes on a one to one basis. the support work in Warminster would be one to one for short shifts in people homes within the community, and various shift timing at the 24 hour service in Warminster including double cover shifts and sleep in shifts where required.
All the people we support have a variety of interest from, Music, singing, craft, playing darts, playing pool, board games, cooking, swimming, drumming and are always looking to try new things. Their ages range from Ages range from 30s to 65.
You will be Friendly, caring patient and able to get on well within a team and lone working.
All the people we support are mobile, there is some reduced mobility but they can get around with the use of aids. We do not have anyone that is supported to use a wheel chair and we have minimal personal care within services.
Some people are happy to travel by bus, some people may use taxis. The use of a staff car is not required, this can be an advantage at times but this can be worked around.
A team member needs to be able to get themselves from place to place if they are working in the community, but they are not expected to transport others.
What does a Relief Support Worker do?
As a Relief Support Worker you will be expected to provide an outstanding level of support that will enormously contribute to the people we support, living a more comfortable, dignified, liberated and happy life.
- Supporting people to live independently – budget management, paying bills, housework, organising appointments and cooking delicious healthy meals.
- Relationship building – supporting the people we support to understand the world around them and promoting positive relationships.
- Community & Social Inclusion - supporting individuals to access and participate in their local community and social events to promote life skills and individuality.
- Personal care - helping people to get ready for the day. This may include prompting the people we support to take their medication and assisting with bathing, showering and using the bathroom. Not all Support Worker roles include high levels of personal care.
