• Provides technical and administrative supervision to all pharmacy staff members within the Pharmacy Department, both outpatient and inpatient.
• Assigns work to subordinates; evaluates work performance; advise or counsel employees on work and administrative matters; interview candidates for positions; evaluates work performances, approves leave.
• Provides direct pharmaceutical services by selecting, procuring, preparing and dispensing medications. Reads and interprets prescriptions; measures and mixes compound drugs and chemicals. Resolves Issues related to clinical, chemical and therapeutic applications of drugs. Reviews and records all patient information regarding therapeutic appropriateness of drug therapy. Provides consultative services and instruction to patients on safe usage of prescribed medications.
• Maintains the records control system, handles the purchasing and requisitioning of supplies and equipment, prepares and maintains the department budget, assures the department and staff are in compliance with all Joint Commission on the Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO} standards, guidelines and all other regulatory requirements.

• Participates in internal management operations and activities in terms of organizational structure, functional operation, and long-range planning.
• Outlines goals, establishes controls and required management reports for use by Executive Staff and Governing Body in implementing programs and activities.
• Reviews and recommends distribution of funds and utilization of resources for those departments supervised.
• Participates as a member of the PRSU Executive management team in the planning, interpretation and implementation of policies, guidelines, statutes, and directives, from all levels of the Department.
• Supervises the Service Unit Operations Division.

• Manages and directs Outpatient Services at the Rosebud Services Unit (RSU).
• Develops and implements short and long-range strategic plans; outlines goals and objectives and manages Outpatient operational budget.
• Provides comprehensive preventive and therapeutic health care and medical care services to patients in outpatient and inpatient settings, provides emergency care as required, provides health care services via telehealth services as appropriate and provides consultation to outreach clinics and/or via telehealth.
• The incumbent plans work to be accomplished by subordinates and prepares schedules for completion of work.
• Advise or counsel employees on work and administrative matters; interview candidates for positions; recommend appointment, promotion, or reassignments.
